Why do we need gun control? There are so many casualties in the United States from gun-related incidents. As a matter of fact, America leads with more gun-related homicides than any other developed country:

Gun control is a law that controls how guns are sold and used, and who can own them. Allowing people to possess and use a gun with legal documents in the United States is legal. There have been arguments on whether or not is should be legal to own a gun as some people see it as beneficial and others do not. It is believed that guns are beneficial to have, and they are there because we need to be able to protect ourselves. We should not allow the government to have power over gun control for many reasons including the loss of tradition of hunting, not being able to protect ourselves, and simply because of the second amendment.

One characteristic of American culture trough out the years, has been its affinity for diverse weaponry, particularly guns. However, many do not realize that America’s relationship with guns is engraved into the very frames upon which the country was established. In the eightieth century, as a means for hunting and self-conservation during the American Revolutionary War and the American Indian War, it was established with the enactment of the American Constitution that “A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed”, also known as the Second Amendment. Strict gun laws lead to more gun violence and crime in America. Guns are very dangerous and can be used for harmful reasons, but guns can also be good for America and can be used for protection and safety. These issues are very serious and can be detrimental which leads to the question, should our nation's gun laws be changed.

The concept of gun control has become a hot button item as we live in a country where mass murders, school shootings, and many other gun related crimes are becoming more and more frequent. People are faced with the impending questions on what should be done to limit these types of crimes and how can one defend themselves and their loved ones from becoming victims to these senseless acts? The main question regarding these issues is; should stricter gun control be instituted in the United States?

There was a horror and tragedy on Sunday , Oct. 1 mass shooting in Las Vegas. The shooting was dreadful because the shooting was at a concert. According to cbs news there is nearly one mass shooting per day. There needs to be more Gun control with gun control there would be less shootings around the world.

Stricter gun laws are required to reduce casualties caused by gun violence. People have right to own guns base on the 2nd amendment of the U.S constitution. According to “Background on Gun Control” 91% percent of Americans say that there should be least minor restrictions on gun ownership. However, research shown that children who died after being accidentally shot has increased from 140 in 1996 up to 259 in 2012 every year. In my opinion, the U.S government should increase stricter gun regulations on background check; mental examination and safety trainings to prevent misfiring that cause death and injuries among our friends and family.

There have been many incidents in the past based on the lack of gun control. These incidents range from an incident with one other person to mass shootings. There are three big issues that woke up our society: the Trayvon Martin case, the Colorado movie theater murders, and recently the San Bernardino shooting. These incidents will help illustrate the reasons why we need stricter gun control.
