Communication is one of the most vital and effective keys to any profession. It is one thing that is vital to any profession and is highly recommended to be educated for education professions. When your part of a health care profession it involves talking to different cultures and audients, like patients and clients. For all types of the people that you will talk to will receive different types of communication skills. There three types of communication skills, writing, listening, and speaking. These three things are extremely important for communication and with any healthcare provider. When it comes to listening it is one of the bullets for learning and becoming a great listener. Healthcare professionals gather all types of important information and that includes things that can be determined by forms or by just reading a chart. This is where active listening comes into correspondence and becomes a significant method of listening. Active listening is defined by listening with your undivided attention and by having a completely opened mind and being able to summarize the message accurately and clearly. Cultures provide people several ways of thinking and opinions. When it comes communicating the potential for misunderstandings increase dramatically because translations between languages. Most cultures have their own constricted rules about what is proper communication which affect verbal and nonverbal communication. Sometimes by simply not looking at a person eye to eye has a significant impact on how a different cultural per son will receive it. Communication is usually taken for granted in our every day to day living as we use it without thought. Good communication skills are needed in the workplace and especially with nursing staff to and from patients when giving first hand care. Good or bad communication can make there experience within the health care setting a positive or negative one and can leave a lasting impression. A good health care provider can use there communication skills to put a patient at ease with a few comforting words or gestures, a lack of positive communication in the health care setting could leave the patient feeling neglected, ignored and not valued as a patient.
In an online class setting, it can be very challenging to work on a group project that requires the participation of every group member and completing the project on time. This group project was successful one each individual had because we used proper communication to assign tasks, roles, and deadline to complete the project.
You must be able to understand what the person requires, act on it from the initial information until the matter is concluded, pass on the information to the relevant person/s to ensure the patient’s needs are met, this process takes time to have faith in your colleagues, to challenge them if you feel the right
During my placement, I also developed good communication skills. I learned how to communicate effectively with clients to enable the provision of health care. When addressing clients, I avoided the use of difficult medical terms and opted for simpler words that were easily understood by all. I also used a variety of efficient communication methods such as allowing clients to express themselves, providing sufficient time for discussion and maintaining eye contact with clients. Purpose: The purpose of this speech is to educate and inform my audience of the risks inherent from unintended hypothermia. I’m eager to alert perioperative staff of the potential dangers as well as the preventative measures that can be taken in order to avoid complications associated with unintended hypothermia. When Person of different culture meet there might be misunderstanding when they communicate because One thing that is a norm here might be dissrespec in other part of the world and creating more challenge adapting. For example if there were two people that is new to US one from India Krishna and other from Mexico jasmine. They were both learning the customs of here. The norms of customer service are smiling,greeting. It would be a challenge if they both were invited to Muslims wedding because the norm there might be different.
