Hi, my name is Art. I'm the student nurse looking after the patient Ms. Kei Ambrose in room 104.
S- I am calling because the patient Ms. Rae, 19 years old, complained of muscle cramps, dizziness, and tiredness.
B-. Ms. Ambrose was referred this morning because of losing consciousness in the middle of an activity. The patient went hiking with her family; her parents stated that she had a cough and experienced severe headaches before passing out.
The following are here current vital signs and laboratory results:
> Temperature – 39.6°C
Blood Pressure- 110/ 70
Pulse Rate- 106
Respiratory Rate- 24
The patient also has flushed skin and is warm to the touch.
I already provided a Tepid sponge bath to the patient and adjusted environmental parameters such as room temperature and bedsheets. Also, I removed any extra clothes or blankets. However, when the patient woke up, she vomited and showed aggressive behavior.
A- I think the patient is suffering from hyperthermia.
R- I would like you to meet the patient as soon as possible for a thorough assessment. Is there anything more I should do in the meanwhile, or anything you'll require for your evaluation?
