Follow-up Question

Thank you for your response! that was helpful.

I thought the research scenario was imlying a positive correlation, such that as height increases, weight increases. Thus, i thought correlation would be most appropriate. Especially considering that we do not have a data set to predict from. I did not know we can do a linear regression without having a known variable to predict from.

Just clarifying, would it still not be appropriate to do a correlation?

Follow-up Question

That does make sense. However, we are expected to use the data set from table 1 and conduct the appropriate statistical test. We don't have an already known variable X to predict variable Y. We must answer the research scenario using the data set. The data set given, e.g., select 20 people from the population correspond to the data set provided. It is not an already known data set to allow us to predict the influence of height on weight.

Would it still be regression in this case?
