Onychocryptosis, or ingrown toenail, is a very common nail disorder in which the nail edge extends into the periungual dermis. It most typically affects the hallux and has a biphasic appearance, with the second and fifth decades being the most prevalent. A callus is an entirely natural, superficial, round, and thickened spot of epidermis created by pressure or friction on the hands or feet.
