Difference between composites and metal alloys are:

  1. 1. When 2 or more distinct element are bonded in such a way which leads to formation of one solid piece of material, that is, rod of steel in the concrete matrix is known as Composites.
  1. 1. Alloys are mixture of essentially metal atoms which develop a constant solid solution, that is steel, a blend of carbon & iron.
  1. 2. A composite, though, leads to being extra addictive, concrete are excellent in compression and inexpensive, but disappoint in tension, whereas steel is excessive in tension but costly. Hence, adding steel rods into concrete results in the structure which is cost efficient & superior to either individual, but not the mixture. It is still basically just concrete & steel, just blend in the form that increase the profits of both.
  1. 2. The main feature of alloys is the "solution" bit, and that can and does break down when you investigate too closely. Essentially, though an alloy is the mixture that is larger than the whole of its parts, forming something new. Iron is ductile and soft, carbon may be dusty and week, but when carbon dissolves in the iron to form steel it becomes stronger and harder
  1. 3. The main key to composite is recalling that they are composed of 2 or more component with different characteristics which hold those properties in final form.
  1. 3. The elements intermix to produce something with properties in an alloy which is different from elements on their own.
