Outdoor School For All: An Examination of Experiential Education Introduction: It is commonly held belief in the state of Oregon that Outdoor School (ODS) is one of the greater experiences of students schooling, from both the perspectives of sixth grade students, high school student leader (SL) and people of all ages. It is a dream of mine that every sixth grade student across the country, not just those within the jurisdictions of the Multnomah and Northwest Regional Educational Services Districts
As with anything, how children are in a community setting versus how they are in a school setting varies greatly. Therefore as expected, fieldwork in a community setting is much different than how it is in a school setting. In the community setting there is a feeling of less stress on both me and the children. Additionally it is a much more relaxed environment. As a whole, being able to experience both in class and community environments for fieldwork will greatly benefit me as a future teacher.
Music is a subject almost everyone enjoys, but is slowly being stripped away from the school systems. The education of music goes far beyond just playing an instrument to a beat.
