The primary market research is to gather new information by conducting market research, interviews and surveys. This information we have collected through direct contact with the guests. This research differs per business. Our hotel can overview about the target markets through the surveys and interviews we have done.

Public opinion polls come in a wide-set of different subjects and are good examples of inductive arguments that are seen and used in our day to day lives to measure the public’s views regarding a particular topic or topics done so by taking a non-biased survey/questions. This is an excellent example of inductive arguments, because the person or party/entity conducting these surveys, is looking to validate their argument and assumptions, or to provide a guarantee of truth in the concluding result. However, it is not simply easy to rely on “experts” and believe that the data from these polls they collect, are completely accurate and are not skewed from their own biases. Since a survey is an inductive generalization, a sample is taken from the target population from which a conclusion is drawn regarding the entire population.Which makes these inductive arguments fall into two categories: either weak or strong.

Primary research gives more accurate result then secondary result. It cost a lot as you should research everything yourself or should hire a person. Primary research takes long time to come to conclusion while secondary research takes short time and are easy to research. Primary research is based on raw data and

Primary data is when you collect and gather the data first hand in the form of a questionnaire, survey, telephone or interview. This data is specific to the company and did not exist beforehand. Sometimes referred to as field research.

Primary data is data which your business or you find and gather data to analyse. By you or the business finding the data this makes it primary because the data belongs to you making it original. The different ways to gather data is surveys and interviews by collecting data like this makes it original and reliable.

I believe that Excel can enhance the younger generations math learning skills. I think that as long as the basic math skills of calculating numbers are learned and mastered first, then Excel can be of a great benefit in the development of the critical thinking skills that are necessary to implement all of the different formulas. I believe that this kind of critical thinking that is required to realize how to formulate the data is a very important skill to develop. I do think that the younger generations and everyone else's calculating skills become a "little rusty" because of continually relying on Excel to do all of the calculating instead of doing the math out longhand, but this can occur even through the use of calculators. It has to be mix of both primary and secondary. Primary research is to be done to know the customer perception about the image of the company and the nature of market competition. Various trade journals, industry reports should also be referred as secondary source.

Primary research. This has to be gathered first and to answer certain questions that are related to the project; therefore it is more time consuming and expensive. Primary research is considered to be a reliable source of information as it is coming directly from consumers.

Primary and secondary sources are ways in which data can be retrieved. As Serakan (2006) stated, “Primary data refer to information obtained by the researcher on the variables of interest for the specific purpose of the study”. Various evidence suggesting to what methods of primary research can be conducted and which are most effective for the previously mentioned problem description are stated in this chapter.

When conducting research, when is it conducive to use primary research over secondary research and vice versa? Both research techniques are viable and beneficial. They each have purpose and can be used as a marketing research template when conducting research. Both techniques are equipped with tools that can be used to guide a researcher through the research process. If these tools are properly adhered to, the research process can be seamless and quite effective. Moreover, market research can assist a researcher in making accurate decisions and improve the chance of success. "Primary data is the data observed or collected directly from first-hand experience." (Anon., 2014) This means that someone collected the data from the original source firsthand. The person collecting this data could be an organization, researcher, and authorized enumerator. This person acts as a witness so that primary data is considered only as reliable as the people he met.

In order to add more diversity in the types of research used for this project I conducted a survey to gain primary data and see whether the results supported the claims of the articles or not. I decided to create the survey using the website SurveyMonkey as it is a reliable website to use and I can easily give out the survey while retrieving the data from it just as easily. The questions that I asked were based around information that I gained from secondary data. I wanted to see whether the claims made from these articles were true

Secondary market research is market research that’s already gathered and prepared for you. Secondary research also known as desk research is when an organisation identifies suitable sources and getting access to them; reviewing and accessing their suitability for their specific research objectives (Mcgivern 2013). There are many benefits and drawbacks of using secondary market research for an organisation.

In survey method research, participants answer questions administered through interviews or questionnaires. After participants answer the questions, researchers describe the responses given. In order for the survey to be both reliable and valid it is important that the questions are constructed properly. Questions should be written so they are clear and easy to comprehend.

When someone starts a new business or expands existing business, there is need for market research to make stronger and better decisions and improve chances of success. There are two type of research; secondary market research and primary market research.
