Peachtree is an accounting software program sold by Sage, whose parent company is the Sage Group. The software is geared for use by small- to medium-sized businesses and has progressed through several generations over the years since its conception. Initially, Peachtree was sold by Peachtree Software, a company that was established in 1978. Peachtree accounting software was acquired by the Sage Group in 1998.

1.8 GHz processor and 1 GB of RAM is recommended for multiple users. For optimal operation of either version on a given workstation, Sage suggests 1 GB of free disk space, Internet access, Internet Explorer 6.0 and at least Windows 2000 SP3.
The software is great, but all too often business owners order Peachtree software and never really learns how to use it to their advantage. They spend countless hours trying to figure it out on their own and never really find the true timesaving jewels that Peachtree has to offer. To create a customer into Peachtree, open the Customers & Sales Navigation Center in Peachtree. Click the Customers icon and select New Customer from the drop down list provided. The Maintain Customers/Prospects window is displayed; this window has five tabs in which to enter information about the customer: General tab that records the contact details and address of the customer, Addresses tab that records alternate shipping addresses for the customer, History tab that displays key details about the customer's purchasing history, Sales Info tab that records sales default information for the customer and the Payment & Credit
