If I am truly being honest I must say that climate change has never really helped the economy. More times than not, climate change, and the terrible storms/natural disasters that it produces, harms the economy, especially when hurricanes and tornadoes hit us down here on the coast. For example, when Hurricane Harvey came through, even though it hardly touched us, we still went through the aftermath. A major gas line, that supplies most of the Bible belt (the south), was shut off for days, and gas prices shot up, and while they have gone down in towns/cities farther north in Mississippi, Hattiesburg gas prices are just starting to decline. Climate change occurs when there is too much carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Now when I say that climate change has cost the economy a lot of money I am in no way referring to global warming. Contrary to the belief of many, climate change and global warming are not the same. Global warming, however, has caused many of its own problems. Many scientists, who study climate change, have agreed that climate change will hit the United States hardest of all, though they are not sure how bad it will be yet. The southern part of the United States will be the ones, who suffer more than the rest, but, due to the fact that the majority of the nation’s food comes from the south, it will eventually get bad for the rest of the nation. If forced to think about the entire situation, one may notice that every summer, especially in Mississippi, is hotter
