Q5: Define (in 1 or 2 sentences) 5 strategies you can put into place to measure and maintain the personal performance of your staff and yourself in order to meet the operational needs of your company?
Answer:
1
Setting targets in line with experience – KPI’s are set to measure our performance, this is a gauge as to what you are good at. A report of KPI’s (broken down) can show what your strengths and weaknesses are – it will show if you are not meeting the same target on a monthly basis and in turn will lead to identifying the skill in question and additional training in this one particular skill can be set.
2
Conducting performance reviews – your knowledge and skill levels are assessed in accordance with the organisations standards, this in turn leads to identifying areas that need further development and a plan can be structured to meet these needs.
3
Observation – as a manager, you need to watch your employees from a client point of view. Have they been polite, asked the right questions and really listened to their answers to identify their needs, updated their details on file, closed the sale, thanked them for their time and invited them back. By having a check list of what your organisation requires from their employees, you can acknowledge what they are doing well and what needs work.
4
Obtaining feedback – Listening to your colleagues and acknowledging them positively while
active listening is about giving your full attention and watching not just what is being said but how its being said. This can be observed by watching their body language, gestures and other signals.

After reviewing the Balance sheet I have a concern regarding the Current and short term liabilities. Creditors/ trade payable is payment yet to be made for goods already received, if this continues to rise then it will effect the business profit and less stock will have to be ordered so repayments can be made. Bank overdrafts also continued to rise and in the long-term the business will be paying greater interest, which will again eat into the profit. Both increased quite a great deal from the last year-end. If this continues then the business will get into bad debts and owe too much that it will end up having to sale its assets to survive. Finally I can see that due to the above issues and other issues the net current assets/ working capital has decreased so therefore the business is less value then it was a year ago. If the business is worth £1 million now, this could soon decrease within another year.
In this task I am going to look at how The business are impacted by European and international factors, I will also look at what impact these factors cause The business
3. You have been asked to advise a growing organisation which employs 75 people in office-based roles but which has no specialist, dedicated HR function. Managers are particularly keen to know how they can best evaluate the effectiveness of their HR activities and initiatives. Despite limited funds being available the organisation manages to provide some form of formal training and development opportunities for everyone each year, gives everyone an annual performance appraisal and seeks to involve staff through a consultative forum which all attend at least once a year. What advice would you give? Justify your answer.
KPI can make everything easy to recognize and survey. The employer is able to know performance for each employee and rewards them fairly and equally with different rates such as increment and bonus. From visibility on expression and strategic target, the employee can know their limitation and weakness. The employee should put more effort to achieve their particular goal which set by the employer.
In this case, the manager and employee identify the key competencies required to achieve each performance goal / objective
b. Lists of key performance indicators (KPI5): KPI is a term specifically used to indicate criteria adopted in evaluating the employee’s performance.
If something that cannot be quantified needs to be tracked, a KPI can still serve as a rough guide on the matter, giving it significant flexibility. This flexibility, combined with its built-in accountability, makes the concept a key part of the Kaizen business model popular in Japan. A KPI is always an objective that is clear, specific and simple for everyone to comprehend, such as “reduce manufacturing waste by 5% by July 15th.” It would be foolish to run a business, no matter the size, without keeping track of how well that business is performing. A KPI system is a simple, effective and multifaceted method to keep track of the most critical aspects of your business. When the employees know what KPIs the company is currently aiming for, this also helps to organize their priorities and slightly alters how they approach their work. Employees tend to respond well to direction, making KPIs a useful tool for directing employee behavior. Drawing on our earlier example, if a school did not know how many of its students graduated, they would not know if their curriculum was effective or if their teachers’ methods were meaningful or not. What sort of school would that be if they had no idea if their students were learning anything or not?
KPI is a tool to evaluate the performance of companies, departments and employees. It can help managers to understand the degree of progress of the achievements and direct departments and employees how to achieve goals. Because KPI can make achievements digital and define assignments
Key performance indicators (KPIs) are formed as part of the performance and appraisal process to measure the output of an individual. The performance appraisal allows a comparison to be made of the actual performance against expected performance (KPIs), which is linked to feedback and whether the individual has warranted a reward.
Assessment can help organization to eliminate redundant training efforts, substantially condense the redundant spending of training and assist managers in identifying performance requirements that can best be satisfied by training and other approaches. It also defines performance problems or issues based on occupational group or individual; describes critical behaviors needed to affect problems/issues and lastly describes how the
