Alex Nassar ECO-402 Final Project Southern New Hampshire University Abstract Forecasting numbers and data is an extremely important role in policy making. Economic forecasting plays an integral key role for the decision-making process, helping governments and policy makers to devise major policies and strategies. Many times, there will be an abundant amount of statistical forecasting being done in order to forecast various economic indicators, however the complexity of them changes a lot across different measures. Often times their will be many different sources that have published relatable economic data which conclude of different forecasts for major macroeconomic variables. In this paper below I am attempting to put
Deardorff (2001) stated that, direct foreign investments refer to the particular countries and kinds of countries toward which a country's exports are sent, and from which its imports are brought, in contrast to the commodity composition of its exports and imports. Besides, direct foreign investments also can be defined as the situation in which a foreign investor owns10% or more of the ordinary shares or voting power of a local company. Thus, the pattern that the direct foreign investments follow is that of a bilateral trade.

David Colander defines economics as "the study of how human beings coordinate their wants and desires, given the decision-making mechanisms, social customs, and political realities of the society” (Colander, 2010, p. 4). Coordination in this definition refers to production content, method, recipients, and even quantity. To think like an economist one must analyze every situation by comparing the costs and benefits and make any decisions based on those findings (Colander, 2010). The study of microeconomics zeroes in on the individual and analyzes how economic forces affect the choices he or she makes.
Gross Domestic Product, also known as GDP, is defined as the dollar value of all final goods and service produced within the border of a country during a specific period of time, typically in one year. GDP measures the value for the whole country, and it also changes quickly. We can take a look at the trends of US GDP in the website of the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis.
In October of this year, the Bureau of Economic Analysis reports the Real Gross Domestic Product which is the United States production of goods and services
While college students spend tens of thousands of dollars on tuition each semester, skipping class has become a tradition as popular as the singing of “The Victors” after a Michigan touchdown. If learning in college is supposed to be as important as beer pong, why don’t students attend class? In order to examine whether students should attend their Econ 101 lecture, one should consider the Four Core Principles of Economics: cost benefit principle, opportunity cost principle, marginal principle, and interdependence principle.
When I was a child, I had a need for perfection in my academic pursuits - I focused on getting every question on my tests right. My father would shake his head disapprovingly at this strategy. He told me, “education is not only what you learn, but also how you will put what you learned into use.” At the time, I couldn’t understand what he meant, but as I grew older, realizing that it’s impossible to memorize every detail I read, I understood the importance of making my knowledge practical.
The type of economic indicator that can best be used for business forecasting is the:
In this paper, I will explain the roles and importance of the Business cycle Dating committee of the National Bureau of Economic Research. I will also explain how the NBER defines and dates recessions. Finally I will explain the important aspects and effects of the last recession.
The economy is a very delicate machine, it takes multiple factors to work properly, however some work better than others. Economic policy is government interaction with the economy based upon enacting policies that regulate interest rates, taxes and government budgeting. With this, government's hope to control and regulate the economy and make it work to the best of their country. To prove that it is successful, the strength of the economy would need to be put into question. If the economy is increasing with a particular policy, then the outcome is positive, Supply-side economics is the most effective as it made America have the longest economic growth in the history of the United State compared to demand-side and fiscal economic policies.
Do you ever wonder what economic policy is? Economic policy is actions that the government takes to influence the economy in different types of ways, or policies. The actions the government takes can include setting interest rates through the federal reserve, who handles all the money in currency. The government can also regulate how much money they use on different expenditures. The government also uses economic policy when they set tax rates. The types of policies are supply-side economics, demand-side economics, and monetary policy. This essay will cover all these policies.
For economic forecasts, there are many sources. The most reliable is the Congressional Budget Office (CBO.gov), which bases its forecasts on both current data and its own analysis of current government policy. A number of financial institutions also produce economic forecasts, which can be purchased or will be given to their clients. These are usually also based on careful analysis of trends and data, though being commercial entities they are more likely to introduce bias into their work. Many think tanks will also produce economic
In the United States, minimum wage has remained at a low number for several years. Minimum wage is defined as the lowest possible income that an employer can legally pay an employee. This ensures that all people are fairly paid and not defrauded by companies or businesses. Minimum wage is considered a price floor and the minimum wage laws determine the lowest price possible that any employer must pay for labor. In an economic model, the quantity of supplied is greater than the quantity demanded and the minimum wage is above equilibrium price and quantity. Minimum wage prevents labor supplied and labor demanded from moving
A key aspect of economics is the collection and analysis of the vast amounts of data generated throughout global economies. The interpretation of this data can provide important signals for the future direction of the economy. There are two forms of signals that arise from the various economic data that is collected. The first are direct signals, which measure the movement in what is being measured. These usually take the form of a given macro indicator.
Gross Domestic Product (or known as GDP), is defined as, “aggregate output as the dollar value of all final goods and services produced within the borders of a country during a specific period of time, typically a year” (McConnell, Brue, & Flynn, 2012). This measures the value of the output in monetary terms, and you can check current trends of the GDP by taking a look at the Bureau of Economic Analysis website. Today, we are taking a look at the “Release Highlights” link to check the most current trends within the GDP.
