Nursing is an occupation in which professionalism (or lack thereof) can have a significant effect on not only patients and their health, but the nurse’s relationships with colleagues, patients’ families and even their community. A nurse must exemplify professionalism, especially in an environment that creates increased risk for loss of life or further injury. There are many aspects that are involved with professionalism in nursing, and many expectations set up on the nurse.
A nursing philosophy is the thoughts and beliefs about the job of a nurse based on one’s values. My values that have formed over the years have influenced me to purse a forever career as a nurse. I grew up in a small town Smithfield, Pennsylvania with my parents and younger brother. My community consisted of close relationships between the residents. Every one helped and cared for one another when needed. The practices of my community guided me to want to become a nurse. I want to continue to care for my community and give back to them by treating their illnesses and providing them with better health care. I am particularly interested in caring for pediatric patients. My goal is to try to provide every infant a chance to live their beautiful life created for them by God. While doing this, the primary focus of being a nurse will be to accommodate my patients and allow them to become a healthy person again.
Some of the recent literature surrounding public perceptions of wrongful convictions, focuses on how frequently wrongful convictions occur and whether the public know of this and consider it to be an issue that needs to be rectified (Zalman 2005; Bell & Clow 2007) Most of this literature seems to suggest that although the general public can identify many of the reasons behind wrongful conviction [eye witness testimonies, false confessions etc.], and estimate that 6-10% of all convictions are wrong (Zalman 2005) still are of the opinion that wrongful convictions are not an issue that needs to be considered by justice system (Zalman 2005). In contrast, another study conducted by Bell & Clow 2007 found that 82% of those surveyed believed that wrongful conviction was an issue. The difference in the findings may be explained by the difference in culture between the US and Canada, and the difference in methodology used (Clow & Ricciardelli 2014).
In the essay below, I will discuss the role of the nurse and explore how a child nursing has developed and changed over recent years. I will investigate legislation and policies governing nursing in Wales, analysing the moral and ethical code they are bound by, and discuss the role of the nurse in the health care services of today. My aim of this essay is also to examine the impact of legal, regulatory and ethical frameworks on the role in practice. I will also draw upon the historical development of nursing and how nurses interact and communicate with young children and their families.
Do the nurses care about the newborns or not? Most people think that the nurses are compassionate and caring. In a hospital, the nurses are the ones who have to make sure that the patients are well and take their medications on time. They spend a lot of time with the patients and always try to make them feel comfortable. For example, according to the essay “Role of caring in the nursing profession” caring is the most important role in nursing (2).
Mistakes something that we all do. People are not perfect therefore we will all make mistakes many times in our life. But there are two types of people in the world's ones that will live up to their mistakes and accept that they did it so they can move on. And there are those that will never live up to the mistakes they made and they will never be able to move on. The only way to truly learn from a mistake is to accept that you made one. There have been many times in my life that I have messed up and made mistakes. Some very terrible some not so bad. But none of them never were as bad as this one but, what i learned from the mistake made it all worthwhile.
