Four Stages of Transformation Learning
Transformative learning is basically changing the way one thinks, feels, acts, and sees life now, as opposed to the past. It can have a small or huge impact on the way they see different aspects of their life. The four stages of the transformative learning process are: Recognizing a specific problem – this is when one would decide if there is a need for change. They would recognize that there is a problem and specifically what it is. Confronting the problem intensely – They would then avoid apprehension and immediately confront the problem, while remembering to consider all possible solutions.

I was asking myself, “Is this my only option? What are the risks if I do it and what are they if I don't?“ The conclusion I came to was this: I wanted to live and I wanted to be there for my daughter for as long as I could. I decided I was willing to take the risks to ensure that I would be able to accomplish all I had wanted. I had the surgery and lost over 150lbs. Today I live my life completely different. I eat healthy, use proper portions control and exercise regularly. Of Mezirow’s seven phases, I feel that Self-examination is the one that most pertains to the life experience I shared. Making the decision to have the surgery was only just the first step. I then needed to take a look back and determine what was causing me to struggle with my weight. Through self-examination I found that food was my drug of choice. Just like an alcoholic or a drug addict, I had a dependency. Having surgery fixed the issue with how much I could eat, but it did not remove my taste buds or the reasons in my life that caused me to want to eat. This is when I needed to take control, go to therapy and learn how to deal with life's issues and not use food to cope. Having the surgery afforded me the opportunity to learn how to deal with my problems and not try to eat them
The movie I will write about is the The Purge Anarchy. I would say have more than one genre. I would say that the genres are action, horror and thriller. Action movies are movies that have a tremendous impact, continue high energy and lots of physical activities. Horror movies are unsettling movies designed to frighten and panic, cause dread and alarm, and to invoke our hidden worst fears, often in a terrifying, shocking finale, while captivating and entertaining us at the same time in a cathartic experience. These are types of films known to promote intense excitement, suspense, a high level of anticipation, ultra-heightened expectation, uncertainty, anxiety, and nerve-wracking tension. Thriller and suspense films are
The two priority problems for Mr. George are Hypertension and Diabetes (hyperglycemia). It has been demonstrated that arterial hypertension is major important determinant of heart diseases. The pathogenesis of hypertension is linked with multiple factors that include dietary, genetic, and patterns of lifestyle. The biological factors that determine hypertension include: atherosclerosis, resistance to insulin; hyper-responsiveness towards adrenalin based stimuli and dysfunction of endothelial cells. It was studied that the evidence suggests that decrease in the ratio of prevalence of high blood pressure gives rise to reduced ratio of cardiovascular related mortalities. It can be achieved through intervention with suitable medical therapy (Villalpando et al., 2010).
(A) ADJUSTED GROSS INCOME: This is a measure of income and it used to establish eligibility for financial benefits. It is calculated as gross income from taxable sources minus allowable deductions. Adjusted gross income is important to individual income taxation because it controls individual qualification for numerous deductions and credits. Besides, it can affect individual eligibility for retirement plans.
“I think I may go out on the town today and see what kind of fun things I can do.” Mommy look at that fat girl, fat people shouldn’t be allowed out, quack quack waddle fat girl, hey shamu go back to the water. These are some of the things that I have endured and heard on a day-to-day when going out in public as an obese individual. Like myself, a lot of other obese individuals have embarked on many failed weight loss attempts only to gain instead of lose weight. Bariatric Surgery is a great lifelong tool to help aid in weight loss and manage the success;, however, many individuals shy away from the surgery because many health professionals only state the risks over the benefits. Bariatric surgery has become very popular in the United States, but there are many factors to consider such as the risks and benefits, success rates, and procedure options offered. Bariatric surgery has afforded many obese individuals a new lease on life. Medical doctors and insurance companies seem to be down playing the benefits as a way to keep patients with many obesity related ailments to keep them in business. The benefits that bariatric surgery has greatly outweigh the risks and allows for new beginnings.
The first procedure an auditor could use is completeness testing. This is used to make sure the auditor has all information he or she would need to accomplish the task they have been given. A second procedure that could be used is classification. This is when information given must be clarified to the auditor. This would be needed for this circumstance when there was no clear answer given as to why GM chose the 6.75 discount rate. Another procedure that should be used is verification, this is when an auditor verifies that the completed records given to him occurred. A fourth procedure is existence. An auditor should verify that the company has existing investments that our meeting the objectives of the pension plan. A final action that should be taken is clarifying the objectives of the pension plan to ensure it is on the correct track for employee retirement benefits.

Having taken a combination of English and writing all through my high school career I have come to know myself as a writer, I was able to learn a vast majority of my capabilities and weaknesses. After thoroughly reading the description of all of the writing courses offered at Salem State University I have came to the decision that the writing course that best meets my needs is ENL 110.
Surgeons’ have an easy approach to doing the surgery. They have more of the right tools to do the procedure with. It results in the surgery being done correctly. Those who have gastric bypass know it is not an easy ticket out. This surgery is to help reduce and keep weight off; those that experienced it have to manage their diet, physical activity and psychological change. There required to think positive about their weight loss approach. Although, many insurers cover this surgery (“Is”). Most people who qualify are afraid to get the procedures, but bariatric surgery has been proven to be effective” Is gastric surgery the solution to America’s Obesity problem? Well for most of it yes, according to research more people are starting to get gastric surgery than a little bit. There are more people who have decided to get this procedure done. However, obesity may explain why weight loss interventions accumulate financial and social support in the past may prove to be the ultimate expansion of gastric surgery
In my heart I truley believe the benefits of this surgery greatly outweigh the risks. Everything Ive done so far with my eating habits and diet have put me at a greater risk.I do understand the seriousness of this surgery and understand it can never be undone. A portion of my stomach is going to be cut away and removed limiting my food intake forever. Im going to implement the triangle of sucess into my everyday life Im going to replace T.V. time for exersise time and choosing and planing a healthy menu and portion control not only for me but my family as well.
However, diet changes also need to happen in conjunction with the surgery. The surgery isn’t a quick-fix solution; it’s simply a tool to help you lose weight.
An important element of long-term health and weight loss success is the development of an integrated multidisciplinary education program. Such a program must be aimed at teaching both parents and patients about the anatomic and physiologic features of the proposed surgery and the lifelong need for strict adherence to nutritional guidelines and daily physical activity and offering behavioral strategies to meet these needs. Attendance at adolescent bariatric support group meetings before and after surgery can also be quite helpful (Inge et al.,
I Leslie Garrera would like use this portfolio as an opportunity to have the two English courses at Marywood fulfilled. After high school, I received my associates degree for medical assisting and graduated cum laude in which I took COM 1101 Interpersonal communications, ENG 1101 English Composition l, and SOC 1101 Information Literacy. These courses provided me with a high level of language skills. I also took American sport history my first semester at Marywood which included a fifteen-page research paper that I received a high grade on. I bring this to your attention as I was the only freshmen in the class all others were juniors or seniors and I was able to achieve an outstanding grade as they did after taking both English classes. I
I am now thirty-one years old and I am morbidly obese. I have put my stomach and my body through so much torture to get it to my BMI that matches my height. I had Gastric Bypass Surgery at the age of 18 years old, I lost extreme weight and got my body down to 146 lbs. After I was married I gained the weight back. At the age of 25 my body began to shut itself down. I was struggling to get out of bed. My stomach was the root of the cause. I went back to the Gastric Dr. who found my body was in Restasis mode which means it was operating backwards and trying to shut down. At age 26 I went under the knife again and had my bypass reversed. The Dr. put my stomach into a Sleeve.
Many others argue that people should be able to decide how they want to lose the weight and how healthy they decide they want to be. A large amount of people need to work at their own pace taking in the consideration of how mentally strong and how badly they want the weight loss. The person may struggle getting themselves to actually watch what they eat and how much exercise they are doing. But if they can have their mindset and create goals for themselves, they shouldn’t have that many difficulties. The people that get this surgery are people that want to change their body and live a healthier lifestyle.
Well, I knew all to well what my body was going through. It scared me to the core. I watched my mom go through this, now it is happening to me. I do not want surgery; I am way to young for this!
