In Supreme Conflict, Jan Crawford Greenburg provides insightful analysis and assessment of the politics surrounding the Supreme Court appointment process of Justices during the Rehnquist Court. Charley wanted to join the war. The second he got in all he did was complain. Charley said the food was horrible. To Charley the things they did were not war material. Until, finally soldiers went on a train ride to their first battle. Charley and the other soldiers got paid for the first time. Charley sent some money to his mother and brother. Then, finally they arrived at their battle field. Charley was positive that he was going to die. Charley didn't want to shot a people.

223 years ago, an innocent, ten-year-old boy died on a prison ship. His name was Jerry Sanford and he lived with Captain Starr, a local Patriot. The day Jerry was captured, British troops raided the only home he had ever known and killed several of his friends including his guardian, Daniel Starr. In My Brother Sam Is Dead, one of Jerry’s friends was a boy named Tim Meeker. He was not killed the day of the attack on Starr’s house, but witnessed the deaths from behind a rock. In the story, Tim has a brother: Samuel Meeker. He was a Patriot soldier fighting in the American Revolution for freedom, rights, and glory. Sam and Tim’s parents, however, were loyal to the British Crown and disapproved of their son fighting with the rebels. In My Brother Sam Is Dead, although both sides of the war are shown, authors James and Christopher Collier ultimately argue that war is futile.

    A little ten year old boy is snatched out of his life as he was taken as a prisoner of war. He is destined to die when others lived. His death actually happened in history, but also in the novel, My Brother Sam Is Dead. It is the year 1775, the Revolutionary War just stirring among the people. The narrator is Tim Meeker, the youngest son in a family that runs their tavern in the town of Redding. The Meeker family goes through lots of sufferings at the cost of war. His older brother Sam is a Yale student who goes to war to fight the British against his father’s wishes. As the war goes on life gets tougher and the Meekers experience the hard reality of war. Tim is split between the sides of war, but realizes neither side is right. As Tim goes through story the authors show the reader of the difficulties of war. In My Brother Sam Is Dead although both sides are shown, authors Collier and Collier argue that war is futile.

When Jeff returned, the army broke camp and started the long march to Springfield, Missouri. The sergeant was Millholland, who Jeff liked much more than Clardy. The next evening they camped 25 miles away from Springfield. When Jeff shot his gun to clean it, he got arrested and was taken before Clardy. As his punishment, he got all-night sentry duty. The battle was going to be at Wilson's Creek, Missouri. The north planed to attack the rebels at dawn and by surprise. They failed to surprise the rebels, lost hundreds of men and the battle. The day after the battle, Jeff had to report for ambulance duty. The field hospital was 2 large gray tents thrown together in a clump of trees. When Jeff was scanning the field of people, he saw lots of dangerously injured people, none of them looked happy

The Crisis, given by a soldier himself, helped boost the moral of the war weary soldiers during the Revolutionary war. When news gets to Charlie he now realizes he has a reason to get involved in the war. For Charlie he now has a personal investment because his son means more to him then what the war is dealing with. If his son also means war he is willing to take the chance and go look for him. Charlie does not fall in the trap of the glorification of war, he instead gets involved in war for the right reasons which is saving his son. Although Joe was drafted into the war he did not realize he had a choice to go or not to go.

It is in first person because it is narrated by the main character Huckleberry Finn. The narrator's perspective is that he likes to be on his own and not civilized. This is Huck’s perspective because in the book it says “ here weren’t no home like a raft. You feel mighty free and easy and comfortable on a raft.” This develops throughout the text by that in the beginning they are trying to get civilized but it was annoying to them. Then they run away and experience tragic things such as friends dying. Then they meet back at the raft and have a good
