1. Do you feel that the Bearington plant has the right equipment and technology to do the job? Why?

Some people say that with dedication, persistence, and time people can accomplish any goal. Others say that people are limited in what they can accomplish and need to be realistic when setting goals.

I sat in my child development class in a “brick and mortar” classroom setting. What was I doing there? I was extremely interested in what the professor was speaking on and what was being discussed. However, I was beginning to doubt whether I wanted to continue in my current field of study, Speech/Language Pathology. I no longer felt I was being fulfilled. There was something lacking. I talked to a few of my friends who mentioned how much money I would make as a Speech/Language Pathologist. I heard what they were saying, but somehow it just did not matter. I had to find the missing link…….

My interaction with the client was more on the line with solution-focused. With the solution-focused approach the client has knowledge of what would make his life better, even though they may need some considerable help describing the details of their better life and that everyone who seeks help already possesses at least the minimal skills necessary to create solutions. Patient was focusing on what he can do to make his life better.

The process engineer suggests that you find the most labor-intensive operation that the plant performs. Reduce costs by automating the operation.

This paper is a book report on the novel entitled The Goal written by Eliyahu Goldratt and Jeff Cox. The 40-chapter book is actually a business book written in the form of a novel that makes it interesting to read unlike other business textbook. As a novel, the book is entertaining but at the same time, very informative for management or accounting students as well as for the real-life company managers and CEOs who wanted to apply different managerial practices. The paper summarizes the novel and makes analyses in relation to Operations Management.

In the article Aims, Goals and Objectives, Nel Noddings states that “Aims are used not only to derive goals and objectives but also to evaluate them.” (Noddings, Aims, Goals and Objectives, 2007). She also believes that educational aims should be directed towards making the lives of everyone full and satisfying as opposed to changing all people into members of the educational elite (Noddings, Aims, Goals and Objectives, 2007). Out of the three goals, (Personal, educational, and professional) I chose two of the goals that I am focusing on and that is my personal and educational goals. For my personal goals, I want to create a big picture of what I plan to do in life. Then I want to break them down in order to reach my goals, then once I have them together, then I would start working on them to achieve them. For example(Specific and Measurable goals), I plan on finding a job that has great benefits and the best rate of pay, and one that does not require working on weekends(Monday-Friday only), and not working overtime.

My personal goal as a student at the University of Phoenix is to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management within the next two years. This goal is very important to me because of the impact it will have on my family, work and personal life. In my family it will set a positive example for my daughters, grandchildren, and youngest sister. My family has been a source of support throughout my years in college as I have pursued this degree while maintaining a full time job. Obtaining the degree will be an accomplishment not only for me but also for my family who has given me the encouragement to reach my goal. Alex Rogo is manager for one of UniCo's production plants. Recently Alex's plant, as well as the others in his division, have been having major problems shipping orders on time. A person needs to achieve certain goals in one's life before you can call them successful. Success is to achieve goals, you have set. I have set certain goals I would like to achieve in my lifetime.
