I agree that Healthcare executives are HR Managers. Healthcare executives are managers because they manage business operations. Health care facilities can be small, medium or big enterprises that involve classic business procedures and practices (eHow). Healthcare executives are responsible for engaging with medical staff, making sure they do their job. The number of Hospital Administrators may vary from Hospital to Hospital. The number of administrators can vary depending on the size of the organization. Here in Columbia, Palmetto Health has 10 Hospital Administrators including one Chief Executive Officer, President, several Vice Presidents and a Chief Medical Officer. Many of the administrators have earned a Master’s in Health Administration and one of the administrators is currently enrolled in a MHA program (Palmetto). When doing this research, I didn’t see a license required for the state of South Carolina to hold a position as a Hospital Administrator in a regular short stay health care facility. There is a license required for Long Term Health Care Administrators as listed on SC’s Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation Website. This document is referring to Nursing Homes and Community Residential Homes. The document required one Hospital Administrator to be a member of the board on both Nursing Homes and Community Residential Homes. There are several professional associations that Hospital Administrators could become members of. These associations provide networking to members within similar fields to conquer adversity and to spread ideas. The first is The American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). ACHE is an international organization. It has over 40,000 members including health care executives
Medical and Health Services Managers/Administrators are people who handle the business side of the health care field. These workers can also be called "health services executives, health- care administrators, [or] health services managers" (Source 6). They can work in any health related business of any size. Examples of these places are hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, and private practices. Facilities like these can range from supporting a handful of physicians, and treating few patients, to supporting hundreds of physicians and treating thousands of patients. Medical and Health Services Managers/Administrators do not work to treat patients one on one, however they do make sure that those patients are receiving the best care possible
The field of healthcare administration is a vastly diverse field. The ranges in roles vary from medical receptionist, coordinators, and clinical professionals to administrators. Even with in the administrator role there is a range of specialty positions, however there are some base line qualifications which individuals must have before they may be able to move into a specialty administrator role. The minimum qualifications for a healthcare/hospital administrators are 5-7 years of similar executive-level management experience in an academic health setting, preferably in a department of similar size and scope; must have extensive experience in medical center finances, budget preparation and control, personnel management and information systems;

The American Hospital Association (AHA)represents a large number of member hospitals. This group has a significant voice in policy making. The CEO and CMO should actively engage the AHA and participate in efforts to present the issues to CMS. This engagement needs to be proactive and direct. Political: The Governor of Florida appoints seven members to the South Broward Hospital District Board of Commissioners to serve four-year terms.
