Many people could be affected if staff did not ffollow regulations, an outbreak of food poisoning could occur and this would affect the service, people we support, staff and visitors and they could become very ill with diagnoses of sickness, diarrhea, which could lead to being admitted to hospital and have further complications as well as be less able to fight off infections, or be vulnerable due to their age/lifestyle/circumstances. In this essay I will be explaining how I use good communication and interpersonal interactions with the residents I will meet on my work experience at a residential home for older people. I will be explaining the skills and strategies I will use to make communication making sure it is effective. My essay will talk about different types of communication for example one to one, with different types of people, including professionals and service users. P3: Explain factors that may influence communication and interpersonal interactions in health and social care.

The ‘Communication cycle’ is a frequently used theory of communication. It was originally established by Charles Berners in 1965. In 1967, a man named Michael Argyle claimed that human communication is essentially a two-way process that involves people sending, and responding to each other’s verbal and non-verbal messages. It was then improved in 1972 by Argyle’s. The model of the ‘communication cycle’ makes it apparent that to ensure effective communication, it has to be a two-way process. As well as transmitting messages to others in a precise way, health care professions must be able to react to both verbal and non-verbal feedback. Therefore, operational communication has to involve determination from both sides in the communication cycle.

In this report I will be describing different patterns of ill health and who and how they are monitored. I will also try to explain different factors that affect our health, not only now but I will try to discuss how different factors fight effect our health in the future, I will then evaluate the influence of the government have on factors that affect ill health.

A health service is a service that provides care and is under the NHS. For examples hospitals or a G.P. They provide treatments but also prevent illnesses through health promotions. A social care service is about providing support to individuals to help them get by and who ever needs it such as emotional support or practical support with daily living tasks.

Reporting of Injuries,Diseases and dangerous occurrences regulations of 1995 requires the reporting of work-related accidents, diseases and dangerous occurrences. The Act applies to all work related activities, but not to all work related incidents. The objective of the regulations is to enable the enforcing authorities to identify where and how risks arise and to investigate serious accidents so as to prevent them from occurring in the future and thus providing a safer work environment. P1 – Explain the role of effective communication and interpersonal interaction in a health and social care context

In a society it is essential to have effective communication skills, without those things can be very difficult. When you say communication people tend to generally just think about verbal communication and while speaking and listening is a large portion of what communication is it is a lot deeper than that and some people believe some of the other aspects like body language and facial expressions to be even more important in the maintaining of effective communication skills than forms of verbal communications.

This report aims to discuss the communication observed between the Nurse and Patient portrayed in the video. There are two scenarios in which the Nurse addresses the patient’s concerns. The patient’s response is influenced by the Nurse’s approach. In a health care setting, a personal, empathic yet professional approach is most effective in communication from Nurse to Patient.
