In 1965, the very first television transmission about skateboarding was in Anaheim, a city in California (Pereira). In 1975, a slalom and freestyle contest were held at the ocean festival. Even though skateboarding wasn’t that advanced with tricks, they did have simple tricks because skateboarders knew how to go up and down ramps (Care). In 1976, the first outdoor skatepark was opened in Florida (Werner 108). Eventually, they did advance in tricks, and one of the most common tricks used was finally invented.
Bowling for Kids' sake is a fund raising event that will happen for local Big Brother Big Sisters of Franklin County for the second year in a row at two locations which are French King center in Erving, MA and a bowling alley in Shelburne Falls, MA. This will be on April 7th and 8th. The local organization itself has been around for 50th years. The way the funds are raises is through bowling teams being formed and then those individuals try to get donations from their friends, colleagues and families. The minimum amount to get is 75 dollars for adults. The minimum for Children under 14 who are playing on one of the teams is 35 dollars.
