Unprocessed quantity will be 7,800 bbls (12,600 – 4,800) including 3200 bbls in bins and 4,600 bbls in trucks (7,800 – 3,200). The trucks will continue unloading up to 4,600/600 minutes after 7 pm and until 02.40 am and the processing will continue until 8 am. At the same time, to empty the next slot of berries, the remaining quantity of berries will be arrived. The total amount of berries that will be processed is 7200 bbls (600 x 12). The total waiting hours for trucks will be as follows: Processing rate = 600 bbls/hr. Arrival rate = 1050 bbls/hr. Processing time for 3200 bbls of wet berries = 5.3 hours or 5.18 minutes It means next process will start at 3.24 pm. Total berries will be processed = 3200+ 2016 (3.36*600) =5216 Remaining berries will be on truck, it means trucks will have to wait for (12600-5216)*(15.24-10.03)/2/75 = 256. 5 truck hours [15.24 equal to 3.24 pm] Total number of trucks = 18.32 or 19 (256.5/14) trucks Thus, from the above calculation, it can be exhibited that trucks have to wait to unload after 10.03 am for total 256.5 truck hours. The maximum number of trucks that will wait in a day will be 14.
