What are your career aspirations?
My career aspirations are to work with, help, and mold students and children as a future educator and ultimately, an administrator. I hope to follow in the footsteps of my mother and keep the tradition alive of being a college graduate and a teacher. As a Hispanic, being a second generation college student and receiving higher education has always been an established priority of mine. As a future high school teacher, I plan to help urban and underprivileged students reach their highest potential. I’d like to somehow participate in changing the stereotypical cycle of discontinued education among these individuals and their families. Living in a diverse community, I’ve witnessed a stigma and cycle of undervaluing

Dating back to elementary school, I was in the gifted and talented program for several grades. In the fifth grade, I received student of the month for academic excellence. On a more artistic note, in eighth grade, my hand-drawn portrait of a celebrity was entered and later exhibited at William Paterson for an art show. As a part my 4H club, I received a Ribbon for Best in Division at the Passaic County 4-H Fair for my art project that was made of recycled materials. Upon eighth grade graduation, I received the President’s Education Award for outstanding academic achievement and earning high honor roll throughout my time in middle school. More recently in high school, I have continued to receive recognition for academics as I have earned both honor roll and Principal's honor roll throughout my entire time at Passaic County Technical Institute. I also received a certificate of participation for the New Jersey Educators Association. One of the most honorable things I’ve received would most definitely be being selected to be inducted for National Honor Society at my school of 3,400 students. Aside from maintaining a 3.997 cumulative GPA, I have also been recognized for playing sports. As a member of the Girls Varsity Tennis team for three years I have received awards such as 3rd place at the 2015 Comet Invitational Tennis Tournament, Honorable Mention All-County 2016, Big North Conference Second Team 2016, PCTI Second Year Varsity Award, Second Team All-County 2017, Big North Conference Second Team 2017, and PCTI Third Year Varsity Award. Outside of school, I have received an Achievement Award given by Kiddie Academy Domestic Franchising for completing a training in Promoting Early Literacy. Over the summer, I received a certificate of completion from Montclair State University for successfully completing the Hispanic Student College
One of the greatest injustices in modern America revolves around the difference in the quality of education students from different classes receive. Children are held back from doing their best in school for simple reasons such as poverty, lack of parental support, teachers who cannot give them individual attention, learning disabilities, undiagnosed mental health disorders, poor health, developmental problems, and so on. It is my personal belief that no child should be held back from achievement for something that can be solved with a treatment plan, individual attention, or a different method of learning. Because of this belief, I decided to pursue degrees in art and education to become a secondary school teacher.
I have several notable accomplishments, most of them are of academics. Some of the awards/accomplishments that I can recall ever since I was in middle school are: First position on spelling contest, department award for the most Helpful student, Student of the quarter, Presidential award for educational excellence (Gold Seal), 4.0 Honor roll, Indian Classical dance, Achieve3000 state winner, department award for “Excellence in English Language Acquisition,” and Academic Excellence Lettering Award. Among all these awards and recognition, I consider Achieve3000 to be the greatest because it was a state level competition and was moderately competitive to win. In the Achieve3000 program, basically, an individual has to compete with the students
Firstly, as Napoleon Hill once said "It is literally true that you can succeed best and quickest by helping others to succeed", I want to be able to directly provide support for new undergraduates and help them achieve their academic goals as a senior student. As a person who enjoys learning individuals' studying style and discovering different ways of teaching to help others reach their full potential, I believe that there is no job as rewarding as teaching. The satisfying feeling a teaching assistant can gain from helping students who have trouble learning is truly incomparable. Moreover, being a upperclassmanot only do I want share my amazing experience and advice for the new undergraduates but also as many students may feel intimidating to talk to the professors, I want to become a perfect link between the professor and students as well.
Last year, I received a commendable G.P.A of 4.4. This proves that I not only take difficult courses like Honors and Ap classes, but also contribute great amount of hard work and dedication to overcome those challenges and succeed. Other than my transcript, I received man recognition for my academic achievements. I attended many Honor Rolls and received Academic Letter Award every year. In addition, I also participated in competitions, like Junior Math Leagues, Science Fair, and NHD(National History Day), to test my knowledge in academics. I competed in the Science Fair and won first place in school division. In NHD, I have received first place in school, district, and state competition. By participating in these competition, it motivates me to strive higher. Lastly, I am a member of NAHS(National Art Honor Society), NSHS(National Spanish Honor Society), NMHS(National Math Honor Society), and Tri M Music Honor Society. This demonstrates my high interest and excellence in all four subjects: Art, Spanish, Math, and
The contributions I have made to my school include participating in volleyball from the fall of 2014 to present. For volleyball, we have collected food for the food pantry, conducted a youth night to teach younger children the fundamentals of volleyball, and a breast cancer awareness night which included raising money to fund breast cancer research. I also participate in dance and softball. For the 2016 softball season I was chosen for the spirit award because of my positive attitude and energy during games and practices. Through hard work and dedication the dance team won conference champs at the 2016 conference competition. I was chosen by my coaches for the Limitless Leader Award and the Sportsmanship Award in 2015 and last year. I have earned a varsity letter in
I have participated in cross country and track and field and have gone to the state championships three times. Academically I have acquired a 4.28 G.P.A and I rank seventh out of 87 in my class. While I was in sports I excelled academically and was awarded Nevada All-State Academic Team for three seasons. I am part two clubs, National Honor Society and Future Business Leaders of America. I am proud to be vice president of Future Business Leaders of America, to help coordinate the underclassmen so they can keep the club alive in the following years. One of the most memorable accomplishments in my high school career is receiving Rotary Student of the Month for math and social studies. The Rotary Club rarely gives out this award to a student two times and I was fortunate enough to receive it both
My decision to be a teacher did not come easily to me. This choice was dependent on a reflection about what I was passionate about and how I could make a difference. I have chosen to become a teacher, as I believe teachers have the ability to provide future generations the stimulation for one of the most significant roles in life; to become a lifelong learner. Many teachers that I have had during my education have had a positive impact on my decision to grow and develop the skills that are fundamental to pursue a successful teaching career. My aim is to be a part of an honorable profession with the optimism that one day I will become an efficacious teacher who can provide future teachers with inspiration, as my teachers have provided for me. Through personal educational experiences and peer-reviewed academic literature, I am able to shape my approach to my pre-service teaching, as it will influence my future practice. As a teacher, there is not just one singular approach to educating students; there is a need for flexibility, diversity, adaptation and reflection.
Throughout my high school career, I have consistently received awards and high honor recognition for my excellent academics and leadership roles. Since grade 9, I have always been an honor roll student and for the past three years, I have been a high honors student (Average above 90%). This year, I competed at the Concours D’Arts Oratoire (French Public Speaking Competition) and placed fourth place in the Francophone category. My greatest honor to date has been being nominated as my school’s Schulich Leader. I was nominated on the grounds of my academic excellence and leadership within my
Since childhood, I have tried my best to find something in which I excelled, a path in life that I could turn into a career choice. However, it had not been as simple as I thought for as I developed, matured and refined my academic skills, my passions changed as I gained a love for the sciences. Initially, I wanted to explore a career in detective work, which I pursued for two years. Then at age fifteen, I had my heart set on pursuing law, primarily because I wanted to help people, especially those who had been faced with injustice. However, as I enrolled and completed more advanced and challenging Science classes, I began to develop a passion for pursuing a career in science and its related field. The constant that remained true, though, is that in every career path I desired, I knew that I wanted to help others.
My junior year I took Careers in education 1 and this year I am taking Careers in Education 2. I have participated in many activities through Careers in Education. The major activity I participate in is volunteering for a 7th grade math class. I student teach at Akers Elementary School monday through friday during third and fourth period. During my first year of Careers in Education my junior year we did a lot of book work about education and strategies in Mr.Foote's class. This was a very big thing I believe because a lot of the things we learned from the book transfer over to teaching in the classroom. Careers in Education helps students further their knowledge on different career options in education. In this sector
During my high school career, I have been active in band, choir, drama, speech, and National Honor Society. In my activities, I have received many awards such as Best Actress and Most Improved Actor; I also competed in State Speech my senior year. My activities did not affect my grades, and I graduated in the top ten percent of my class. At Wayne State College, I have involved myself in many clubs such as Art club, Art Education club, Drama club, Alpha Lambda Delta, and Lambda Pi Eta. Along with staying active in clubs, I have kept my high grades and have been on the Dean's List.
The past year has been a stressful one. I have been faced with the biggest decisions I have ever had to make. Decisions that mark out my future and essentially set me up for the rest of my life. I had to decide which college to attend, what to major in, what I want to be now that I’m grown up, etc. I also have to worry about how I am going to pay for said education and where I will live. Don’t grow up, kids- it’s not fun.
I always wanted to be a professional skateboarder. But the truth is, like any professional sport not everyone makes it, and I don't think I'm going to make it. So therefore I have to focus on my future by getting a good job. That doesn't mean I'm giving up on my dream though. In order to do that I need to go to school further. I don't want to work long hours for little pay when I have the opportunity to go to school and get a better career. That is why I have to continue my education and I am willing to do what it takes.
I am Enzo McNutt. I was born in Bellevue, WA on November 30, 1999. I am a fairly smart guy who believes in Christianity; though I grew up going to Catholic churches with my neighbors. While growing up, I lived in Renton, WA with my father and grandparents. My mom lived in Seattle and I saw her part of the week. That was back like ten years ago when I was a very young boy. Now, I live with my mom and dad an equal amount of time. I have one dog at my dad’s house and two at my mom’s. I enjoy going to school, quading, graphic design, and I am also learning how to type code. I do well in school, especially in Math, Spanish, and Art, but I have a hard time keeping all focus while doing homework. Knowing this, I always strive to do my best and push through my struggles while trying to do my homework. It has always been a goal of mine to get a 4.0 GPA. This first semester I had a 3.6, so the goal is still alive and I can achieve that goal by doing my homework. I am currently attending Sultan High School as a sophomore.
I did not plan to go back to college; I was just looking for a job that had good health insurance benefits. After landing a job in the College of Medicine Admissions Office, co-workers began telling me I should look at the Adult Interdisciplinary Program and finish my degree. After receiving an email from that department, I decided to attend an orientation meeting. The organizer introduced me to the Prior Learning Assessment (PLA), which awarded credit for life experience learning. I had managed employees, was running my own business, and was actively involved in public relations and social media management for a local charity event. I signed on knowing I would have an opportunity to fast track my degree by putting together a portfolio
