Persuasive Essay On Global Warming

“Scientists’ overwhelming conclusion is that climate change is happening and human activity is the primary culprit,” (“Climate Change”). The world we live in is falling apart more and more every day. Pollution; Global Warming; Climate Change; These are all problems that caused by people who have come forward in recent years, one of the biggest issues is climate change. The United States government needs to take aggressive steps to combat climate change because scientist have warned that if the climate changing progresses at its current rate, it could have disastrous consequences for life on Earth. Data shows that climate change is linked to rising sea levels, droughts, an increase in the risk of extinction of many species, and the increase in severe storms. With all the issues that are connected to climate change we are not doing enough to try to counteract the lasting effects it has on our environment.

Climate change has been a popular topic of discussion for years now, because of the threat to our environment. The world will forever be changed if climate change isn’t taken into serious consideration and not in a good way. Climate change has had many negative effects, for example, damage to coral reefs, the increase of wildfires, and most importantly rising sea levels. Climate change is happening now and action should be taken now to stop it. The damage to our earth cannot always be undone as well as making some places disappear forever.

Climate change is a real problem facing our world with all of the progression of today’s society. The amount of Greenhouse Gas emissions has gone up drastically in the past one hundred years alone. The use of transportation, industry, electricity and the deprivation of the world's natural resources has increased the amount of Carbon Dioxide in the Earth’s atmosphere. The Environmental Protection Agency has shown an increase in the Earth's temperature by 0.8 degrees C in the past century alone. It is proven that humans are the cause of global warming but it is not too late to change how we are.

Global climate change, something that most people in the world are not taking as seriously as they should. Many people believe that climate change is a phenomenon; a conspiracy theory to engage people into spending more money. When the world became industrialized, we lost our way on protecting our Earth, our only planet. Industrialization is why our environment is in critical condition. Advocating and government officials are necessary for a decrease of Greenhouse Gas emissions into our atmosphere. For our environment to thrive, changes need to happen and they can begin with yourself.

Many people see the flaws in our current world and how it is hurting us. However, people do not like change and think it is impossible for us to change.“But for those of us born and raised inside this system, though we may sell see the dead-end flaw of its central logic, it can remain intensely difficult to see a way out." (Klein, pg 178) Klein explains to us that all we have to do is change. Although, most of us realize there needs to be change, we do not actually put any of it into action. In order to fight climate change we must start putting our thoughts into actions and stop being afraid of change.

I have noticed that climate change has been a big issue this year. I think it's very important to talk about Global warming and be aware of the causes of it. We all should want to take care of this earth, because we are the ones living here. We should make people more aware of the greenhouse effect and how it can affect us.

In the face of all this evidence, there are still many who believe global warming is a natural occurrence that we cannot do anything to affect, and all attempts the government makes to promote the existence of global warming is just a part of a large conspiracy theory. The reasons behind their feelings are somewhat understandable. For one, the future can never be determined for certain, and false predictions as to major events as a byproduct of global warming have in some cases produced no fruit. For instance, in 1990, Michael Oppenheimer predicted that by 1995, there would be devastating crop failures and food riots induced by drought, and by 1996, Americans would be illegally immigrating into Mexico to try and obtain jobs as field hands (Newman 14). That view most definitely was outrageous, and did not come to fruition. However, that does not discredit all the evidence of global warming that we have today. Scientists need to keep raising awareness to get people to jump into action, the quicker the better. Whether humans are responsible for the bulk of climate change is going to be left to the scientists, but it’s all our responsibility to leave this planet in better shape for the future generations than we found it.” I have travelled back in time to warn you guys that Global warming DOES exists. In fact, global warming is a huge issue. We need your help to take care of our planet for the sake of our future generations.

In the wise words of Chicken little “The sky is falling, the sky is falling” but what he actually meant to say was “The climate is changing, the climate is changing! Global temperatures are rising, Oceans are warming, Ice sheets are shrinking, Sea levels are rising, and arctic sea ice is declining. The evidence for rapid climate change is gripping, and it’s happening all around. Climate change can be a confusing topic which people are often misinformed about it, or are lead to believe that it’s nothing to be concerned about. In actuality rapid climate change is a real concern, it’s something everyone should be informed as to what climate change is, what causes it, and what humans can do about it.

Climate change is a huge problem in this world today. The effects it has on the environment are long-lasting, widespread, and detrimental to the planet's health. It affects various life forms all over the planet, and the effects are starting to show today. However, efforts to stop or control climate change’s effects have been expensive, making efforts to solve the problems associated with climate change hard to justify. The debate over whether or not the protection of the environment is worth the potential destruction of developed economies still continues on to this day.

Global warming according to National Geographic is “a gradual increase in the overall temperature of the earth's atmosphere generally attributed to the greenhouse effect caused by increased levels of carbon dioxide, chlorofluorocarbons, and other pollutants.” The greenhouse effect is the warming that happens when certain gases in Earth's atmosphere trap heat. These gases let in light but keep heat from escaping, like the glass walls of a greenhouse according to NASA. Human activity, such as burning fossil fuels, causes a lot of greenhouse gases to build up. As the atmosphere "thickens" with more greenhouse gases, more heat is held in. Fossil fuels are high in carbon and when they are burned they produce major amounts of carbon dioxide. A gallon of burned gasoline puts about 19 pounds of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

Global warming is a very well known and highly controversial topic across the world. Countless people are currently debating over whether or not it is occuring as well as what is causing it and the effects on the environment. Because such a large number of people are concerned for the Earth and the environment, a massive drive for the use of renewable resources rather than nonrenewable resources exists in the world. However, why do these people, including scientists and environmentalists, feel so strongly about bringing a change? Due to the damaging effects of using fossil fuels and nonrenewable resources on Earth, there is a motive to switch to renewable resources, such as solar energy or wind energy, in order to save the planet.
