Liberty is a based Christian University. Liberty University has Christian values. Liberty is one of the largest Christian University in the world. I chose Liberty University because I want a better future and I want to have a closer relationship with God. I want to grow spiritually and I like that Liberty University is a college based on religion. Their online programs are great and encouraging. Liberty has excellent academic programs. Their online programs are flexible and offer many degree programs to choose from online. The staff and faculty are friendly and care about your success. The professors are caring and helpful to their students. They always there to answer any of your questions. The staff and faculty listen to your concerns. Liberty

I can still remember coming home from school after an exciting day in the first grade. I would go straight to my room, line all of my dolls up in the floor, and “teach” them everything I had learned earlier that day. But of course, not every child who pretends to be a teacher in his or her early years actually becomes a teacher. So although I enjoyed “teaching,” I never really considered it as a choice for my life-long career.

I believe that education is the key in developing today’s students into tomorrow’s leaders. Education is the basis on which individuals develop their self-concept and the desire to become more knowledgeable. I want to become an educator because I am interested in helping elementary students become active learners and also to assist with their social skills. I believe I can make a difference to many students as they start their educational foundation. I feel that all teachers should possess the desire to devote their hard work and efforts to their students’ educational success. I seek to join Teach for America to give back to low income communities I have always had a passion to serve my community, rather if it was by volunteering at the local Boys and Girls Club, visiting the elderly, or lending a helping hand at Habitat for Humanity. If given the opportunity to join Teach for America I would be able to not only serve a local community but also teach the future leaders of America. I believe that a quality education should not be upon the basis of race or family income, but from the quality of the educator that comes in contact with each child. It is as if the quality of the teacher can somehow have an everlasting effect on the students that he or she comes in contact with. It is an endless cycle of an unmotivated and uncaring teacher’s coming into school districts and helping to further hinder the students. The

Lake Health seems to have a trend of continuously offering events such as support groups, classes and screenings for the community. They continue to have future plans of research, having good technology, and ways to keep the community educated. I feel as if I could get a job on a Medical Surgical floor and work my way up at Lake West, which is why I chose them for my contingency employer. They are willing to accept associates, diplomas, and bachelors. They offer tuition reimbursement which is a positive along with a retirement plan. The nature of students is that of an instinctive ability to learn. Students of ages and all grade levels reflect their surroundings and respond according to their interpretation. Naturally it is not only the influence of a classroom that shapes a student but many outside factors that determine students’ goals and abilities; for example, healthy encouragement from parents. Students may find a natural ability to perform in one area of education and with help may fine tune their ability to better their understanding of other areas. Students have a better understanding of education when it is relevant to their needs and everyday life.

I understand what kinds of students are needed in this organization. In order to meet the request, I tried my best to stand up in the areas of scholarship, leadership, character and service. For academy, I am a passionate student who likes facing challenges. I maintain a G.P.A of 4.0 for two years, and became the top 2 students in my Biology, Algebra II, ESL, Honor Pre-calculus classes. I am also a math purple team member and attended the state math competition.

Teach for America has had its share of controversies. The organization has placed TFA corps members into positions previously held by veteran teachers. Some districts are laying off veteran teachers and replacing them with TFA to ease budget issues. The practice of laying off veteran teachers and replacing them with TFA has been reported in Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, and Washington, D.C. (Heilig & Jez, 2010). Veteran teachers are having to compete with Teach for America recruits for teaching positions despite their lengthier training because TFA recruits are cheaper than teachers with experience or advanced degrees (Hootnick, 2014).

So far I have pursued an Associate in Arts degree in Biology and am looking forward to the next step in my education. My experiences here have allowed me to grow heavily both as a student and an individual, but I am limited in the amount of resources currently available to me. For example, I do not have the variety of courses and study abroad opportunities that four-year college students have. I seek to join Teach For America because I would not be where I am today if it was not for caring teachers who pushed me into the right direction and validated the idea that I can be a successful student. Growing up my mother and grandmother were both teachers, and hearing their struggles of teaching, I had vowed to never become one. As an educational leader, I must have a vision and mission statement for the school that is known by the staff, students, and parents. The vision will address the needs of the students academically, emotionally, and socially. According to DuFour (1998), “ Those who seek to transform their school into a professional learning community as characterized by an environment fostering mutual cooperation, emotional support, personal growth, and a synergy of efforts.” The leader must implement a plan that will cultivate the success of all students. The mission will speak to the direction of the school community stating what the desire goals are. The building leader will lead by example. High expectations will be communicated and encourage by staff and students. The educational leader of a school must develop a culture of team work to create a climate that is student friendly. The vision mission and goals of the leader should be transparent. The establishment of common goals is the first step. Without common goals, sustainable progress will be impossible and thus everyone will have lower expectations. The students, parents, and staff should be commented to the goals of every child reaching their full academic potential. The school environment should speak to goal setting and high expectations for all students and staff.
