The Importance of Global Warming and its Effects on Humans
Global warming refers to the rise in temperature in the Earth's atmosphere and oceans. Each year the temperature of the Earth increases gradually with an insignificant amount; however, with pollution produced by humans, the rate has increased even more compared to pre-industrial levels. According to NOAA, "Global surface temperature in 2016 was the warmest since official records began in 1880. It was the third year in a row to set a new heat record, and the fifth time the record has been broken since the start of the 21st century.” The earth is getting warmer every day and is starting to become a real problem, especially when it is approaching the threshold. The rise in temperature is so rapid that it could influence and change the composition of the world's population. In fact, the consequences of global warming are unnoticed in our daily lives because they are affecting us slowly. The rising average temperature of Earth is changing our lives for little things. There is much evidence that the Earth is warming as a result of the increased concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Perhaps the most notable signs of global warming are the natural catastrophes like hurricanes and winter storms. The effects of global warming are different all over the world, and they affect people's lives differently. People should be concerned about global warming and its effects because we only have one planet where we can
Global warming is a phenomenon that has amazed and frightened everyone ever since it came into being. The consequences and end results of global warming is what goes on to alarm and frighten everyone on earth. If looked at it literally, global warming is basically in increase in the temperature of the Earth's atmosphere. This change and elevation has been occurring ever since the 19th century and is known to increase even more. The change in the global temperature is dangerous because it goes onto increase the sea levels and alterations precipitation, melting of glacier and possible risks of floods around the world. Global warming can even cause a spread of the deserts (Lu, Vecchi and Reichler 6)
Global warming is the rise of average temperature in the earth’s atmosphere since the late 19th century. Since the beginning of the early 20th century, the earths mean surface temperature had increased by around 0.8 degrees. Warming of the climate system had become more obvious and scientists are 90% sure that the main cause of the increase in temperature in due to the increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases due to human activities such as deforestation and burning of fossil fuels.
Global warming is a term used to describe the slow change in Earth’s overall temperature. This topic recently started being heavily recorded and studied by scientists. Politics started including it around the 1990’s. The boost of greenhouse gases caused by human burning of fossil fuels, industrial farming, and deforestation activities are what people tend to blame for
For the past few years Global Warming has been an issue that continues to worry Scientists from all over the world to this day. Global Warming is a gradual increase in the overall temperature of the Earth’s atmosphere generally attributed to the greenhouse effect caused by higher levels of Carbon Dioxide. Many people believe that Global warming is the one thing that is causing ice to melt on Earth.
Global warming, the phenomenon of increasing average air temperatures near the surface of Earth over the past one to two centuries. Climate scientists have since the mid-20th century gathered detailed observations of various weather phenomena (such as temperatures, precipitation, and storms) and of related influences on climate (such as ocean currents and the atmosphere’s chemical composition). These data indicate that Earth’s climate has changed over almost every conceivable timescale since the beginning of geologic time and that the influence of human activities since at least the beginning of the Industrial Revolution has been deeply woven into the very fabric of climate change. Global warming is happening right now and the balance of the
Global warming is an increase in the temperature of the earth's weather. Global warming is also known as the green house effect. Global warming is a very serious world issue. Most humans are trying to do as much as they can to help stop global warming. Global warming has caused many problems to the earth in addition to the humans that live here on the earth. A problem caused by global warming is very hot summers. Some summers have had days that the temperature had reached 30*C. Another Problem that global warming has caused is the melting of polar ice caps. Global warming caused the polar ice caps to melt which will cause the ice to break free as well as melt in the sea, sea levels all over the world will rise. Lastly,
Global warming is define as the global increase in the average temperature of the earth, that near the air-surface and the oceans which caused by the emission of the gases. These include carbon dioxide, methane and nitrogen that trap the sun’s heat in the earth. It’s happened since the mid-twentieth century and its projected would be continuation. Global warming is an extremely severe problem facing the world today. Its effects and causes have been on the rise and people need to do something about it before the problem gets any worse.Global warming is an increase in the earth's temperature, which can be caused by the use of fossil fuels, and industrial or agricultural processes.
Environmental change is a global phenomenon and it impacts human and natural systems substantially. Precisely predicting interactions as a result of such change is a very difficult science as many elements are often involved. Complex environmental problems such as biodiversity loss, resource degradation, and fresh water availability have been at the center of many debates. In particular, global warming has been the predominant topic in political, social, and scientific communities. What needs further assessment is the relationship between global warming and that of urban cities around the world. Cities are more so than ever becoming the intersection for nature and humans. Cities are major factors in the global warming debate as there strains their local environments can have a global impact. The rapid transition of rural to urban developments and the increasing move of human populations from rural to urban centers around the world show that there is a need to examine in-depth the relationship between urbanization and global warming, and how such a relationship can be made more sustainable. Truly assessing such a complicated problem requires an interdisciplinary approach on the social and ecological systems of human development. The importance of such an analysis is crucial as there is a small window for responding and adapting to global warming. Emissions by urban cities give cause to further examine temperature increases, extreme climate changing events, and the impacts of
What is global warming? Global warming is the polar bears and penguins fighting for their lives because their home is melting. Global warming is seventy-degree weather in the middle of February. Global warming is the rapid increase in tropical storms. Global warming is the California drought. Global warming is the harmful wildfires occurring in our forests (NRDC). Many people, mostly politicians, believe that global warming is a problem that doesn’t exist. Global warming is a real issue that we cannot solve unless we all work together to fix it. The results of climate change are detrimental to the way we live our lives and the animals of the planet as well. If we as a species don’t acknowledge the problem, it cannot be resolved.
Global pollution will nevertheless become a bigger problem than just the melting of the arctic iceberg, or the nearby extinction of several species, but it will, in eventually in near future, result in the extinction of humanity in this planet. Global warming, a term that mean the Earth itself is becoming hotter and hotter. Mr. Bill McKibben, an American environmentalist and writer said in his report about global warming,”We 've raised the temperature more than a degree Fahrenheit (0.56 degrees Celsius) already.” (Bill). One may say that the number .56 degrees is not a number that people should be concern about; however, this is a global scale and to some country, .56 degrees is a difference between life and death. As more and more gas
Global warming is the gradual increase of temperature in Earth’s surface, oceans, and atmosphere. Some people may say that global warming is just a theory that has not been proven scientifically; however, I do believe that global warming is happening and that there is strong evidence about this occurrence. Such evidence includes the increase of carbon dioxide, the rising of sea level, the increase of acid in the ocean, and clearly, the changes in global climate. In fact, mostly all sorts of human activities cause these changes. Ninety-seven percent of climate scientists agree that human actions have changed the Earth’s atmosphere in the past two centuries (Climate.nasa.gov).
Usually when people think of global warming, they usually think of all the countries being very hot and people getting heat strokes. Although global warming does make the earth warmer, there is way more to it in the effects of global warming than just heat. Global warming is the increment in the average temperature of Earth's atmosphere and oceans, which is observed and projected during long-time scale. And it brings with it many negative effects such as; the increase in the temperature of the atmosphere, the melting of the ice caps, the loss of species, the increase of storms, diseases, and economic consequences. The factors that cause global warming are divided into two categories, the
Global warming has become a world wide issue and an issue that is causing great controversy. It is an increase in the earth's atmospheric and oceanic temperatures widely predicted to occur due to an increase in the greenhouse effect resulting especially from pollution (Dictionary). Global warming is a natural process, but because of increase in certain activities this process is taking a faster and more dangerous route creating global problems. Global warming was first theorized in 1894 by Jean Baptiste Joseph Fourier a French mathematician, who noticed the earth was gradually increasing in temperature. He came to the conclusion that the earth’s atmosphere was trapping solar radiation caused by the sun and reflecting this radiation back to
As the years pass, you may have noticed that the days just seem to get hotter and hotter, summers seem endless and winters fly by in an instant. Scientists explain this phenomena with the theory of global warming, the idea that the increasing amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere are trapping enormous amounts of heat and causing the earth to become warmer and warmer. Some scientists believe that recent human activates are the cause of the increase of greenhouse gases, while others disagree, and believe it’s just the natural trend of global climate. Although not everyone agrees on the cause of global warming, something all can agree on is the fact that global warming is altering the planet, which in turn is affecting the human
Ever since the 1980’s Global Warming has been an intriguing topic among citizens, scientists and government officials. It’s ironic to think that only years earlier in the 1970’s the phenomenon was global cooling, now on a dime it suddenly shifted from intense glaciation to excessive carbon dioxide emissions that raise the temperature of the planet. A large number of influential scientists and engineers do not agree that drastic actions on global warming are necessary. This is simply just another bizarre fad that will soon fade due to wishy washy scientific theorems and emphasized social agendas. With the use of basic science and logic the idea of Global Warming can be dismantled and proven to be illegitimate and a hoax.
