In the essay "What Pregnant Women Won't Tell You - Ever", Elyse Anders talks about the downsides of pregnancy. Some of which I wasn't aware that could happen but other I was. I was aware of common symptoms like having a trouble staying awake, morning sickness, frequent urination, pooping and not being able to drink. But, I was not aware of the others.
I assumed that most women are thrilled to experience pregnancy and to have a child. But, the reality is most women are terrified. Pregnancy is scary. Women don't know what is happening to their bodies. Every pregnancy is different so, women don't know what's normal or not. Another reason could be they aren't or allowed to be happy to be pregnant. A woman might realize that they are not as prepared as they thought they were. They might begin to question if they can handle the responsibility of taking care of another person or if they are making a mistake. The sad truth is they might be. Or, people will lecture a woman for being stupid and not being safe. This is most common with women who are too young or not married.

I didn't know that if nothing hurts, something is wrong. If a woman is in too much pain, something is probably wrong. But, if everything hurts and just the right amount then everything is great and going smoothly. The problem a woman doesn't know the right amount. The baby could cause their mother pain by kicking their cervix which cause intense pain and make them want to collapse on the floor. Another thing that can cause pregnant women pain is swelling genitals. It can feel like being punched in the crouch. Sitting causes pain and standing can make the blood rush. Laying down helps but once a woman stands or sits everything is
I believe that I would be a good candidate for the nonfiction residency at The University of Iowa. I deserve to go on the field trip because I represent West High School well. I’ve been a devoted part of the Beak ‘n’ Eye for two years. I am honored to call myself the news editor and I am eager to become a better writer. I work very hard and am always there to take on a new story and help in any way. If there is breaking news I am there to report it. On the day of the lock down I stayed after school to write an article to be published for the website. I am not afraid to take on a challenge. For the latest issue I had a two page spread. One reporter’s story didn’t work out so I stepped up to the plate to take care of the page. I wrote a new article
In the motion picture The Pregnancy Pact a group of high school girls, no older than sixteen, make a pact to become pregnant. Their goal, instead of graduating together, was to have only girls and raise them together. Throughout the movie the girls make references to the pregnant Jamie-Lynn Spears and the movie Juno stating that being fifteen or sixteen and pregnant was the most glamorous thing that could happen to them and not one thing would top being pregnant. This didn't end that way though. Instead the girls realized that having a child so young is not a walk in the park. The media’s perception of teenage pregnancy has changed over time from being a social taboo to a glamorous after school activity. This change
Analysis and Research: In the article Major Physical Affects Related to Abortion done by David C. Reardon about many other types of complication including death. Undergoing an abortion is the fifth leading cause of maternal death (“Reardon”). If an abortion was harmless and safe and didn’t cause any complications than 47,000 women wouldn’t die every year from abortions. The list can go on for many other types’ complications such as pelvic inflammatory disease, placenta

Many of these maternal and neonatal deaths more than 80% of could be prevented or avoided through actions
Before the miracle of birth, pregnant women must deal with quite a bit of discomfort. Pains, swelling, hormonal changes. A woman’s skeletal and muscular system have to adapt as a baby grows in the womb and creates a new center of gravity. As this happens the muscles of the expecting mother must work much harder to keep her standing upright. The progression of this then creates a lactic acid as well as toxin build up and causes toxins to make muscle fibers stick together. This in turn irritates the nerve endings and creates pain. Lower back pain is a common example of this and upper back pain due to growth in breast size during the first trimester.
I was so emotional during my first trimester. I dealt with feelings of depression and on other days, I was elated to be pregnant. In addition to the changes I experienced mentally, I physically was drained from always being tired and nauseous. Things I smelled and things I usually enjoyed eating would often lead me to the nearest bathroom. I would literally go to work and come home and go right to sleep. I was not interested in my responsibilities and that made me feel like I was a bad person. After a few weeks of being sick, I really was getting frustrated with the whole idea of being pregnant. Being sick for 6-8 weeks is no joke. I really thought I would be the one pressuring my husband to support my dream of having a big family. But after
It is difficult to say if women should be punished for their conduct while they are pregnant, because they are people and people have their rights. Exactly like these mothers having their rights, the unborn children are just people and hold their rights as well. Some people feel that, the women cannot help it, because they may simply just have an addiction. On the other hands, people do not agree with it at all.

My first impression on my mom being pregnant was sort of anger towards her pregnancy is because I usually get what I want sometimes when I want it and with a baby around obviously things are going to change. Like me not getting as much attention like I use to and me not getting what i want it. That is why i tried to do everything with her before she gave birth, its not that i hated her or the baby for being pregnant its just that i thought i was going to lose my best friend/ mother. Days went by and the due date got closer, I was very terrified of losing my mom and dad.
I laid there in my twin sized bed and watched the sun start to shine through my thin blue curtains. I felt as if I was going to throw up the greasy fries I had eaten the night before, and I was still depressed about the break up I had in the past week. As soon as I sat up I had to run to the bathroom like I was in a race with a cheetah. I threw the toilet seat up quickly and started to puke up everything inside of me. I sat on the freezing tile floor wishing that it was carpet. I had been getting sick for the past week and I did not know what could possibly be wrong.

Pregnancy is a time of either joy or anxiety for many moms to be. When my mother, Becky Siekmann, was pregnant with me the pregnancy was normal with no complications with my birth happening on my due date of July 10, 1990. Breastfeeding is the best form of nutrition for babies and children under the age of 2 years old per the World Health Organization (WHO) ("WHO | Infant and young child feeding," 2016). When talking with my mother about my development as an infant I found that I was a normal infant, but that I got repeated ear infections that ultimately resulted in having tubes put in before the age of one. Formula Fed babies are linked with having more cases of ear infections and other diseases then babies that are breastfed. My mother chose to formula feed me because of the negative stigma that breastfeeding had around the time of my birth.
