TFA aims at bringing equality in the American education system. I want to join TFA because I have the passion for kids. I personally believe that I share a common ambition with TFA, and being a part of TFA family is a major opportunity for career development . My favorite part of being a member was the conventions and leadership conferences. The conferences are upbeat and attention grabbing with great speakers. The first convention I attended I was amazed at the loud music, dancing and the awesome energy I felt. The enviroment gave me the feeling that this is where I belong and this is what I want to do as a career. The FFA motto is "Doing to learn, learning to do. Earning to live, living to serve". That means to learn new things and use them in everyday life. FFA also builds up the confidence in students and in their work through speaking events, making presentations, and helping the community.
The FFA is definetly one of the younger organizations in the U.S. But, throughout the last ten years, it has delivered a tremendous impact to students, teachers, and the nation along with it’s future.
For me, the Student Government Association is not just a student organization. I believe that it is a place for enthusiastic students to share their thoughts and give input on the major aspects of USD. While our school is already amazing, there are still things that can improve. Because of my motivation and desire to make USD the best, I want to serve on SGA. SGA would provide me with the tools to help express not only my views, but also my peers as well.
I seek to join Teach for America to give back to low income communities I have always had a passion to serve my community, rather if it was by volunteering at the local Boys and Girls Club, visiting the elderly, or lending a helping hand at Habitat for Humanity. If given the opportunity to join Teach for America I would be able to not only serve a local community but also teach the future leaders of America. I believe that a quality education should not be upon the basis of race or family income, but from the quality of the educator that comes in contact with each child. It is as if the quality of the teacher can somehow have an everlasting effect on the students that he or she comes in contact with. The sad reality is that kids living in underserved communities face real challenges in inequalities of available resources in health and in education. A lot of these schools lack essential tools like books. Consequently, kids are reading below appropriate reading levels. Children living in these areas have a higher incidence of not receiving a high school diploma, and moving onto college. The need to further education has become a necessity, and I understand the impact that a good education has on the quality of life. I want to close the achievement gap so that students of all backgrounds have a fighting chance in obtaining a better future for themselves. I understand what kinds of students are needed in this organization. In order to meet the request, I tried my best to stand up in the areas of scholarship, leadership, character and service. For academy, I am a passionate student who likes facing challenges. I maintain a G.P.A of 4.0 for two years, and became the top 2 students in my Biology, Algebra II, ESL, Honor Pre-calculus classes. I am also a math purple team member and attended the state math competition.
Teach for America has had its share of controversies. The organization has placed TFA corps members into positions previously held by veteran teachers. Some districts are laying off veteran teachers and replacing them with TFA to ease budget issues. The practice of laying off veteran teachers and replacing them with TFA has been reported in Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, and Washington, D.C. (Heilig & Jez, 2010). Veteran teachers are having to compete with Teach for America recruits for teaching positions despite their lengthier training because TFA recruits are cheaper than teachers with experience or advanced degrees (Hootnick, 2014).

I’m proud to be a Summit Charter Collegiate Academy, SCCA, bear. When I first enrolled at SCCA as a freshman, the school was nothing but a small, dull institution that focused on academics and nothing else. There were no sports teams, clubs, or school activities. The public viewed the school as a failure and assumed that it was no place for students to grow and experience what high school is like, but SCCA is nothing like the things people say it is. It may be different from the rest of the high schools in Porterville, California, but SCCA is very unique and is genuinely determined to prepare students for the real world. I aspired to do all that I could to make SCCA a better high school, so I joined my school's leadership team, also known as ASB, during my freshman year. Since the moment I joined ASB, I fell in love with the purpose of the organization. I loved to help out the school, and I loved planning events and activities that helped create a better high school experience for all of the students.
I 'm currently serving as a 2013 Corps member for Teach For America. I joined teach for America because I believe in their mission that all students deserve an equal an excellent education. I also joined because they work with schools where students are growing up in poverty and low income communities; a resemblance of my past. You see, we become our worst critics and even the mir image of success vanishes when our thoughts become clouded with fantasies; imaginative thoughts of the impossible. I longed for success, making it clear that the riches were of no importance to me. To others it appeared that I yes she, is writing her own story; untold was the beginning.
According to the National FFA organization the mission is “FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.” I believe the FFA has achieved their goal, FFA has made a positive difference in my life. To me FFA is like a family, that is always there for me and pushes me to do better. I have made friendships that are going to last forever.
I joined Jumpstart, because I saw the opportunity to help children who live in a impoverish community. I myself live in a impoverish community, and I understand the struggle to not have enough resources at home or parents with insufficient experience and time to help me with my studies. I want to be the motivation for the children to help them enjoy learning and find support in me for anything they need.
I participate in both African Student Organization Club and Health Occupations of America. I enjoy being part of the African Student Organization because it allows me to take pride in my heritage while also becoming educated in my culture. I have been able to meet more people who share the same ancestry and culture as me while teaching others who would like to become more cultured. The club is also great with volunteering so I'm also able to help my community and share my knowledge with them as well. I joined Health Occupations Students of America my junior year of high school, and I am extremely proud of that decision.
