Introduction:
All living organisms share common characteristics, which distinguish them from the nonliving things. The living organisms obtain energy from the surroundings. They build new biological material, maintain and repair their body parts, grow in size, and produce offspring. The emergent properties are specific to the level of organization and are not present in the previous level of organization.
