Chapter 16.8, Problem 14CYU
Summary Introduction
To review:
The possibility of seeing an elevated neutrophil count in a differential WBC count in case of a suspect of bacterial meningitis, when accompanied by symptoms such as fever, headache, and stiff neck.
Introduction:
A laboratory blood analysis provides information that can be used to determine the health of an individual. The abnormality in components such as blood cells, the amount of glucose, and the amount of fat in the blood can indicate disease, diabetes and heart disease, respectively. The differential white blood cell count is a valuable diagnostic tool.
