Concept introduction:
According to Lewis acid-base theory, the substances which have an unshared pair of electrons which can be donated are known as Lewis bases. The substances which can accept an electron pair into their empty valence orbitals are known as Lewis acids. The bases act as electron pair donors and the acids act as electron pair acceptors.
