Concept explainers
What physics principle accounts for the observation that water seeks its own level?
The physics principle which accounts for the observation that water seeks its own level.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
As per Pascal’s law, the applied pressure to a fluid in a closed system, is equally transmitted throughout the fluid.
The difference in pressure at any point within fluid which is at rest is spread undiminished to all points in it. The pressure of a fluid at a particular point is dependent on its height only, so pressure at equal heights is same.
Conclusion:
Pascal’s law determines that water seeks its own level.
