Introduction:

A camera is an optical instrument which is used to photograph an object. It consists of a lens and a sensitive film on which the image is obtained.

A camera consists a convex lens which forms a real and inverted image of an object on a light sensitive screen. The amount of light entering the camera is controlled by the shutter and the diaphragm. Varying the size of the opening of the diaphragm, varies the amount of light entering into the camera. Now if we cover half part of the camera lens, whether it’s upper part or lower part, light from all the parts of the object continue to incident on the lens which is uncovered. Covering half of the lens will block only some of the light rays to enter into it thereby making the whole image of the object but with a reduced brightness or intensity.

Conclusion:

Hence, if we cover upper half of a camera lens, whole image would still be formed but will be less brighter.
