Chapter 30.2, Problem 1CC
Summary Introduction
To write:
Whether common nutrient leachingis predominant in sandy soil or clay soil.
Introduction:
Leaching is commonly experienced in agriculture where nutrients that are soluble in water percolates under the soil layers. This happens only when the rain and irrigation takes place. Leaching depends on structure of soil, planting of crops, and rate of application of fertilizers. Leaching does not involve only nutrients loss but also accumulation of harmful chemicals from fertilizers, biocides, and waste dumped into underground water table posing hazardous risk.
