Chapter 5.5, Problem 1SB
Summary Introduction
To review:
The mechanism of exocytosis.
Introduction:
Transport of molecules across a membrane is one of the most common cellular activities that occurs within the body and generally requires energy input. Some processes like diffusion, active transport, endocytosis, and exocytosis are important for the maintenance of concentration gradients, acquiring food, and expelling wastes. Exocytosis is a form of active transport through which the cells transport molecules and secretory products through the cytoplasm to the plasma membrane with the help of secretory vesicles.
