The COO of Riordan manufacturing Hugh McCauley would like to combine the existing variety of tools in use into a single multi integrated application. Riordan Manufacturing wants to take advantage of the more sophisticated state of the art information systems that has already existed in the human resources department (Riordan Manufacturing, 2006). The information gathered in this document the information gathering techniques and the very sophisticated planned design methods that will be used and explained in great detail. The requirements for the business and the Human resources systems are to maintain the objectives of this request. That

Business requirements for an HR system
Riordan manufacturing is a very large company with facilities in many locations around the World. With any company with this size Riordan must have a system in place that is able to keep track of significant amounts of information. Such as Employee names, time sheets and a variety of other important information. This system should be able to have a central location so that stores all of this information and can be accessed not only by the corporate office but at each location as well. There are many functions that a new and improved system should provide. Such as inventory control, tracking of shipments into and out of the warehouses, and the receiving of such items to our costumers. These requirements are essential to the growth of Riordan Manufacturing.
Scope and Feasibility
Riordan Manufacturing is a multi location multi million dollar company that is looking to take advantage of a piece of software that is a state of the art sophisticated information system. Riordan would like to integrate its old information and use it to implement the new system and just have one system take care of everything. Since the corporation already has a similar system in place, this technology should be easily done with the new system. This new system should be very cost efficient and the process
In our quest to ever better ourselves the IT department, of Riordan Manufacturing, is submitting this Request for Proposal to integrate a more sophisticated, state-of-the art, information systems technology in our Human Resources department. Riordan Manufacturing has always strived to better ourselves by keeping up with technology in all of our operating systems and our manufacturing systems. Our goal is to remain at the forefront of the manufacturing community as we keep leading the way in all of our business systems and, at the same time, keeping the feel of a customer friendly company. We want to make
Riordan Manufacturing has decided to make a change to company’s customer management system. The company does not currently have any formal system for managing its customer information and has traditionally left this up to individual employees. This new system will require all employees to use one customer management system. Your team is now working to help Riordan implement this planned change. Your team must do the following in your role as consultants:
Riordan Manufacturing is a company looking to upgrade their HR System. Their HR System is out of date and needs to improve its usefulness and effectiveness. Based on the Service Request SR-rm-004, this paper will prepare and describe information-gathering techniques and design methods for the Riordan Manufacturing HR System project. This paper will also identify key factors that will help ensure information for the project is gathered. The paper will also explain the scope and feasibility of the project. Finally, this paper will design and implement a new HR system for Riordan Manufacturing.
This way the IT department can understand what the higher level and lower level employees need for system stability and a better graphical interface. Another plan of action would include the method of Systems Development Life Cycle or SDLC. The phases of this method are planning, analysis, system design, implementation and operation. First we must plan on what exactly we are trying to accomplish. We know we need to upgrade the Riordan Manufacturing system. Next we must analyze the system and look for problematic errors. A project proposal can be essential to launching a system analysis (Farah, 2013). These are things to keep in mind: understand the business situation or problem, understand the significance to the problem in the organization, think of alternate solutions, the use of computer information systems for solutions, find people interested in the solving the problem (Farah, 2013). This plan is used to decrease redundancies, errors, and increase security. Finding all the weak spots in the company will help in the improvement of integrating an updated efficiently functioning system. Feasibility is important to account for when upgrading the system. Integrating a CRM will help to work with customers and understand their needs and wants to benefit the company and the relationship with their customers. Designing the system will involve knowing what kind of software is needed to store and
Service Request 004 for Riordian Manufacturing (SR-rm-004) asks to analyze the current human resource system to integrate the existing variety of tools in use today win a single integrated application (University of Phoenix Virtual Organizations, 2012). The current Human Resource
Riordan manufacturing has requested an upgrade to their current human resources system. They currently have several disparate tools that are patched together in order to complete HR functions. Many Excel spreadsheets are used by different parts of HR, and combining all resources into one system can provide many time saving advantages and a more reliable system over all. By reviewing who the stakeholders are and what the best information-gathering techniques are we can ensure that we collect the information for the requirements and stay within the scope of the project.
Since the development team has decided to purchase the Microsoft HR system, Riordan now has access to a very successful end user resource support system. Riordan has agreed to an extended amount of support, both through our development team and Microsoft. The initial maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrading of the software will actually be handled by the Microsoft team. However, if there are any hardware or coding issues that come about, we will be handling the support. With the extended support, HR employees have the ability to be in contact with: telephone support, live chat support, remote desktop support, and interactive demonstrations of the system. Riordan Manufacturing has also agreed to hire an in-house
You have been hired by a medium size (approximately 200 employees) widget manufacturing company to do a complete evaluation of their computer needs and make recommendations to them about an information system to support their business. Currently several of their support departments are using manual processes and they wish to automate their accounting and human resources business processes. They also want to harness the power of the Internet in their business.
The Finance and Accounting departments within the three operating entities of Riordan Manufacturing are vastly different. Each is managed independently, not only of each other but of the corporation sector as well. The Georgia, Michigan and California branches operate different business systems for their ledgers, accounts, orders, procurement, sales history, invoicing, payroll and all financial reporting. The process to get this information is unique from branch to branch and time consuming for corporate when it comes to consolidation. None of the systems used are integrated, which causes many hardships for the departments and the company in terms of untimely reporting and
Right now, Riordan Manufacturing does not have a formal system for management of their customer information. Traditionally, they have just left customer information management up to their individual employees. By making a change to the system and requiring all employees to use that system, it will be possible to consolidate and appropriately access all customer information, thus streamlining this process (Marshak, 2005). However, the change is not without stress and difficulty (Marshak, 2005). Right now, there are both formal and informal power structures at Riordan. The company has people in charge in a formal way, but they also give a lot of informal power to their employees by allowing them to manage information for their customers. By having a more streamlined way of handling customer information, it is possible that Riordan will change its power structure to some extent.
The Active Directory problem that we worked on last week is an essential but only a partial answer to how Riordan Manufacturing can improve its productivity and work culture. Beginning with the implementation of the Active Directory is the only first step required to realize the full value of the project. This is a dynamic that is often overlooked: Once a project is determined to provide value to the manufacturing process as a whole, it is often the case that sufficient time is not given to ensure that all of the value is acquired with a specific configuration, or at least a configuration that can be implemented with minimal changes to that configuration. Thus the recommendation here is for a particular nesting configuration that is both flexible and robust. While difficult to implement such a schema, it is certainly possible to do so, particularly since this is a primary cause for which nesting technologies were invented.
Riordan would be able to manage data, text, and document management as a communication simplicity tool. As in any company, data is an informational asset that brings in earnings, investing in data management. Simply spoken, it helps to raise customer relationship management (CRM), while cutting expenses. This type of database will enable increased speeds for locating the products the customers want. It will reduce, considerably, the unauthorized purchases, and improve the efficiency in the operation, helping to also reduce errors in customer purchases. Part of the restructuring, would involve a need for Riordan implement consolidating software applications for all of the branches.
Below, Diagram 1 is the proposed implementation of Active Directory within Riordan Manufacturing. An analysis of this follows below the diagram.
Brettamymelissa is a family owned, med-sized construction & contacting company specializes in bridge construction, concrete work, demolition work, and deep foundation installation. Other areas of work involve a small trucking operation that specializes in flat bed hauling, dump trailer transportation and specialty hauling of oversized, overweight specially permitted cargo in the regional area. Currently we are constantly expanding and contracting nationwide. In order for the company to increase efficiently and effectively the need for implementing a system that will provide the functionality necessary to run the business, that is easy and convenient for the end users, and delivers a competitive advantage is highly recommended. The system currently in place does not meet those needs and will not support the growth and innovation, which are part of the company’s future success. The company main areas of functionality are sending emails, making phone calls or hand carrying files between various offices within the company.
