One of the main reasons Nestle was so hugely successful on account of this merger was because of both the First and Second World Wars. They provided both powdered baby food to the many millions of infants in need and also provided condensed milk for not only the soldiers involved in the war but to the huge numbers of civilians who were affected by it. Many people don’t realise it, and it took me by surprise during my research too, that Nestle is in fact one of the main shareholders in the worldwide cosmetics brand L’Oreal. I found it fascinating to learn that such a huge company like Nestle, who really have nothing to do with and have no apparent interest in cosmetics, would be such a major player in a global company like
