Statement of Educational Goals and Philosophy
Knowledge is a very powerful thing, and to be able to deliver this to today’s youth has been a dream of mine for a long time. There are many advantages to teaching. I feel that is a very fulfilling profession. I have seen my sister in the classroom, and it greatly inspired me to want to make a difference in some ones life. Through watching my sister in action I was inspired to follow in her footsteps.
I believe that each child has the will to learn, and that if they have a teacher who is on fire they will be on fire. I think that if a teacher cannot be excited about why they are doing, how can they expect their students to be excited. I want to be a teacher who brings the

You must hold the child’s hand and show them that the world is full of endless opportunities.
Education is a very important part of society. I feel that it should teach children how to function in a society, and learn the basics they will need to expand on for the rest of their life. I feel that it is used to teach moral, and ethical standards of living. The schools are used to help the children learn to function in life, and achieve the goals of their choosing. Education is important because without it I firmly believe that society would be a very savage institution. With the things that we teach in today’s schools we give the power to know the basics such as reading, writing, and math but we also give them the ability to function in a society. As a teacher I hope to set my student of fire. I want to see them come alive with a desire to want everything that is out there for them. I want to be able to make a difference in just one person’s life. If I can do this I would feel I have done what I am supposed to do. I want my students to know the world is theirs to take and do with it whatever they may choose.
I strongly feel that the classroom should be ruled democratically. I feel that each child should have a vote in what the rules should be, and what they in general would like to learn. I believe they should set educational goals for the class, and help determine how these goals should be achieved. I feel that by using Project-based
Teaching and guiding others have come naturally as long as I can remember, and I cannot imagine doing anything else with my life; sometimes a field or a profession calls a certain type of person, and I definitely am drawn to a path in education. Nothing gives me more satisfaction, and can create more of a positive effect in our society. My passion is teaching and I want to change the lives of students across the board, but mostly those who live in poverty and have not possessed the same opportunities as
I believe that children are unique individuals and fostering self-esteem and freedom of expression are imperative in children’s development. Children need time to explore to construct their understanding
Looking back at the experience I had in observing, I still have the determination to inspire others through a career in teaching. Teaching is a very diverse job that requires many skills and a lot of patience. It is important for a teacher to be able to maintain a healthy and professional relationship with their pupils, develop lesson plans that keep the attention of a majority of the students, make the atmosphere of the classroom inviting, and be a welcoming person capable of standing up in front of the class to
I believe each student deserves the right to feel safe and comfortable mentally, physically, and emotionally in the school environment; especially in my own classroom.
Education has been a powerful instrument that guides the society in achieving human desires and aspirations. It is in the nature of human beings to have big dreams in life. Everyone desires to be successful and lead a prosperous lifestyle. However, a successful life is a fruit of good education. I believe in the value of education because it has the power to transform one from nothing to something. From a naïve young boy or girl to a future president, banker, pilot, accountant and computer scientist among many more successful careers. Therefore, education is the most important tool that children can inherit from their parents.
In the following report, I will be discussing my personal philosophy on education and my educational goals. My philosophy will include some of my personal opinions on the nature of students, the nature of knowledge, the purpose of public education, teaching methods and the importance of curriculum. My educational goals will focus on my development plans and future education.
My life has been greatly influenced by family members who are educators: my mother is a third grade teacher, my father an elementary school principal, my sister a high school English teacher, and my brother who obtains a degree in agricultural education. This has instilled in me the desire to become, like them, a good educator but is defiantly not the only reason for my decision to peruse teaching as an occupation. There are several reasons why I have chose to teach, but three in particular: to make a difference in anyone’s life that I can, help a child who is struggling more than just academically, and simply because teaching remains all I have ever wanted to do since I was just a little
The role of education in society and in the development of the Self, is to allow an individual to develop both sociologically and psychologically. A transfer of knowledge is a necessity, but purpose of education should be to motivate the students to choose a way to live that benefits them the most as an individual. Most of the issues with past and some current education systems come a teacher who simply deposits knowledge onto students and doesn’t give them any room to expand upon it or ask questions.
That’s where my role cuts in, as a educator I plan to encourage and motivate each child to learn. I will accomplish this with using rewards and punishments for their behavior. Also I believe if I have a high energy, positive attitude then I can motivate them more effectively.
I've known for a while that I want to do something that helps better shape the lives of young people. I have had some excellent teachers over the years, and I want to be able to do what they did for me for other students. My mother and a few of my other relatives and family friends are teachers, so I've seen and heard about the experience firsthand for most of life. Sometimes my mom comes home and says she had a great day and she loves her job, but other times she is pretty miserable. Seeing the smile and the struggle that comes with teaching is what really inspired me. A job where you have a perfect, enjoyable day every day of the year does not exist. Every job comes with a little bit of struggle; without struggle it won't get better.
My philosophy of education is basically modeled in my thoughts on what makes a teacher valuable to his or her students and to his or her school. In my opinion, an effective teacher is someone who generally cares about the quality of the education the students are receiving. My memories of great teachers always come back to someone who put time and effort into their lesson plans, offered their time to students who wanted to learn more, and cared more about the students as people rather than students. As an educator, things aren’t always going to be black and white and there will be outside influences that can affect the quality of a person’s teaching, but I think educators should be willing to dedicate the time needed to make their lessons fun and well thought out. In my classroom, I would like to keep my students involved and interested in the new material and
I teach because of my insatiable passion to motivate, inspire, and to positively impact my students in a way that will encourage lifelong learning. I believe the best way to positively influence any student is to first build rapport with them. After I establish that relationship, I will proceed to teach and lead that student to academic success. My teaching will be student-centered and focused heavily on inquiry based teaching aligning with the Next Generation Science Standards. I also plan on continuing my education through taking classes, attending conferences, and by traveling.
For me teaching is an opportunity to invest in the future. The importance of education cannot be acknowledged enough. It is a lifelong process that never ends. And the building blocks of learning happens in the early stages. Early childhood and elementary education is vital stage in each child life and I believe each child deserves the right to have the best quality education. An educator should be a leader, role model and facilitator to their students. Being an educator is not an easy task if so everyone would be able to do it. The purpose of education is to create a spark in a child’s curiosity. And to be able to learn and build on the skills that they already have. Along with being excited about learning. I want allow my students to navigate through social interactions with peers and provide them with the building blocks to figure out what they want to do with their lives. In fact I trust when an educator makes learning fun it opens more opportunity for questions and discovery for a child and adults.
My Philosophy of Education is closely related to what the Essentialists and Perennialists believe. Like the Essentialists, I believe there should be a back to the basics approach to teaching. The curriculum should focus on subjects such as writing, reading, history, science, and math. These are essentials that all students should know. There should be mastery of material of the essential subjects before the students move on to the next grade level. The curriculum should be rigorous and the standards should be set high. The high standards that are set for the students should strengthen the student’s intellect and enhance their moral qualities.
A teacher, according to Webster’s New College Dictionary, is one who “imparts knowledge or skill.” In truth, however, the responsibilities of a teacher ascend far beyond this formal definition. For many year teachers as a whole have guided and molded each generation, thus have guided and molded the future. Being part of such a grandeur undertaking serves as ample motivation for entering the education field. Teaching will give me the opportunity to take part in one of the institutions that America prides herself on: public education. I will contribute to the goal of providing everyone, even the most disadvantaged, with an opportunity to acquire knowledge and better him or herself. I will help to
