1.1 Explain the importance of continually improving knowledge and practice
I feel it is important for me to continually improve my knowledge to ensure that I am aware of, and follow all the current health & social care standards, legislation, and guidelines for good practice as well as ensuring I follow my company’s policies & procedures.
I also feel it is vital that I pass any new knowledge I gain on to my team because this provides them with up to date information in order for them to carry out their roles as support workers effectively. I will do this during in a team meeting, supported housing meeting and also

We also encourage & provide outside training that is relevant to our employees and ourselves this includes courses such as local authority safeguarding training housing management training stroke awareness, and more, staff can request this or team leaders suggest this. I book all training for staff and ensure they are aware of dates times venue and any other information they may require.
Within an induction period shadowing another member of staff is a useful way of learning a new role even if you are experienced at the role every work place has the own policies and procedures to adhere to. Each setting has different expectations from its staff and the service users they support, so this method of training is an effective way of introducing the work ethic and standards of each individual setting.
Regular team meeting are also a good way of developing I have team meeting once a month a staff meeting it is an opportunity to listen to other staff experiences it is also a chance to share with the team good practice and even things that haven’t gone so well.
This enables the staff to also reflect on situations they have encountered and decide if it could have been handled differently or if they would do the same different, people have different ways of handling and looking at situations so sharing helps us all learn from

The important of continually improving knowledge and practice is that you can ensure that you are aware of any new relevant legislation and also you can improve the service that you provide. It also gives you the opportunity to reflect on what you are good at as well as what you are not so good at, so that you can see what areas you can improve in.
Good communication and team work is essential in all aspects of my job, and requires some basic rules, such as: Objectives within the roles and responsibility, and objectives of the job, being able to make decisions, sharing information and knowing when it is necessary and when it should be kept confidential. Also, being able to resolve conflicts is a big part or working partnerships, as not everyone is going to get along with each other and sometimes people need to just be able to listen and come up with a compromise. It is all about delivering good quality social care to the clients, whilst maintaining strong working relationships. With

Learning new skills and refreshing training enables me to progress, and achieve within my career and working practices.
In addition, training should also be tailored to specific positions in the company and employees roles. Management may need additional training to help deal with employee issues, while someone in purchasing may need more training on gifting policies and someone in finance needs to understand the company’s position on fraud.

As a Health care worker I work in accordance with the Care Standard Act 2000, Codes of Practice and conduct, with the Legal and Organisational requirements, and procedures.
My responsibility as a care worker is to be aware of the various policies and legislations that will facilitate good practice when supporting my clients to access services and facilities. I am also expected to monitor and evaluate the service provided to ensure it is meeting the needs of the client.
It is important to continue your professional development throughout your career or chosen profession, as this will help your knowledge to grow and expand. There are many ways in which you can constantly keep improving on this. You

In my role it is important to continually improve my knowledge and practices. In health and social care ways of working and legislation as well as good practice are constantly changing. Therefore it is important to keep up to date with training and also any changes in legislation. This will enable me to deliver the best service possible to the tenants I support and also enables me to keep staff upto date with any changes in the way that we work. It also forms part of The codes of practice for social care workers to keep skills and knowledge up to date.
As a care assistant effective communication is a vital skill in the workplace, on an everyday basis. I use all of these below to help promote and ensure the wellbeing of all service users and my colleagues.
Continual Self-Development is the approach where an individual takes prime responsibility and ownership for their own learning and development. This approach requires motivation and commitment in order to exploit learning opportunities and minimise the impact of weakness. A continuing self-development should be undertaken in partnership with the organisation and self-development should enhance the role held within the organisation. There are many benefits to be derived from continual self-development: improve performance and self-confidence; identify and develop specific skills and qualities; increase learning capacity; help achieve potential.
It is important that there are mechanisms in place to support the exchange of information on effective working practice
All Staff have to attend at least 15 hours of training each year. This is a requirement in our workplace in order to help staff keep up with business targets and refresh in areas of work.
