Do you know that many americans do not know how important recycling is? In the article “Importance of Recycling” by Rinkesh he says, “Recycling is important in today’s world if we want to leave this planet for our future generations.” This statement explains how many americans do not know how important recycling is to keep this planet and many more generations going. Many people do not know the different ways recycling helps out our enviroment. Personally, recycling is important for the environment, which is why I decide participate in it and recycle at home. I like to recycle cans and bottles. In my opinion, there are many factors as to why the environment needs recycling, but to shorten the process I came up with three major needs as to why

A teacher once told me, “One mans trash is another mans treasure, what he doesn’t appreciate the next man will.” Until recently analyzing this statement I always pondered about it as a metaphor using the thoughts, and ideas of people, but after reading Garbology I have come up with a literal process of reusing trash. On average Americans wastes 220 million tons of waste generated each year in the United States which ends up in one of the over 3,500 landfills. According to Edward Humes, the author of Garbology, “Garbage has become one the most accurate measures of prosperity in the twenty-first-century America and the world,” which proves that trash is a means to improving the success rate of Americans. Good Morning everyone, i'm here today to address the situations regarding recycling. There is much debate as to if it is truly beneficial to recycle, some see it as a waste of time gathering resources and money in gas to take it to recycling centers. If local governments gave you the opportunity to recycle by providing recycling bins would you take advantage? If you said no, there are plenty of reasons as to why you should say yes, starting with economic benefits. By 2025 it is estimated that the U.S will save over 850 billion dollars(BIR President Ranjit Baxi). Big businesses such as Apple are already on board with recycling, this year alone they have made 40 million in recycled devices (Environmental Responsibility Report). Other benefits include environment. Some disclaimers believe that landfill spaces will not fill up anytime soon and that they are not harmful to the environment, on the other hand why should we wait until it becomes a problem to fix our landfills? If we can stop the problem at its source there is no reason not to recycle as it positively affects everyone.

I recycle everything that I can recycle in my area, compost and waste that I can compost, and do not replace products until necessary. I believe that I produce much less solid waste than the average U.S. citizen but there is more that I can do. One day during summer when my family and I were having barbecue at the park, there were lot of others people gathering and we didn’t know them but they were having barbecue also. When done with everything they left knowing that they leave their trash behind them. It surprised me because they thought about how they could leave such a trash behind them. People Need to Recycle In the United Sates, where the population is inflated every year. The amount of space for landfills decreases every day. The need for recycling should not be asked, it should just be done out of habit. Everyone in America needs to recycle, to help the lamdfill problem, help the environment, and help produce new products from recycled goods. In America there is about two-hundred and eight tons of residential and commercial trash generated a year, 4.3 pounds per person a day (Prichard 1A). Recycling is done by many people all over the world. Many states across the U.S have made it mandatory, and will fine citizens for not doing their part. Some states have even declared bans on recyclable materials in landfills.. Many agree, and many believe that it is a waste of time, money, and resources. This essay will prove that wrong and explain to you how, and why recycling should be mandatory and why more places should declare bans on recyclable materials in landfills.

Not a lot of people know what recycling does or how it helps. Nobody thinks after finishing a can of soda, eating a bar of chocolate or drinking a water bottle where the container goes. People just throw them in the bin and that is it, they are taken care off. However, that’s not the truth. These containers end up in our oceans or lands, they are just dumped there with other trash and just dirty the place. Just because they are out of our sight doesn’t mean they are gone. That is why recycling should be utilized more to help save the planet and other reasons.

The issues pertaining to consumer’s role on creating more garbage over the years remains to be a controversial topic within the social and economic realms. Some issues that are in support of garbage include brining in revenue to the district, employs a great amount of people, feeds our economy by stimulating consumerism and the economy, allows individuals to live a mobile life, helps to keep disease away and sanitary living conditions, convenient in regards to disposing unwanted materials, and encourages composting. According to an organization called Less is More, “Organic wastes, such as food waste and yard waste, make up 25 to 50% of what people throw away…composting can significantly cut down on your overall trash.” Due to Americans now living in closer proximities to each other more garbage is being produced, but by understanding how compost their garbage efficiently can allow them to spend more on goods on the market. Some values that are in support of garbage include prosperity, valuing one’s quality of life and best interests, morality, and wanting the best for their health.

We can help reduce the amount of trash that is being produced every year by being determined to recycle all recyclable materials and spreading that mentality to others and encouraging them to copy our actions.

According to the Environmental Protection Agency, in 2013, Americans generated about 254 million tons of trash and recycled about 87 million tons, equivalent to a 34.3 % recycling rate. On average, we recycled and composted 1.51 pounds of our individual waste generation of 4.40 pounds per person per day (EPA). And even so some might argue the cost effectiveness of recycling I find this EPA statistic along with the obvious alleviation on global warming and all its effects reason enough to take a closer look at our recycling mentality. Waste prevention is possible in every life situation: in the home, at the office or at work, at school or on the road yet we are reluctant to engage in recycling and therefore waste reduction. We need to avoid waste instead of causing it.
