P3-Types of muscle
There are three main types of muscle tissue in the body: Skeletal muscle, smooth muscle and cardiac muscle. Firstly, skeletal muscle has a stripped appearance when it is examined under a microscope so it is sometimes known as striated/stripped muscle. Skeletal muscle is voluntary and this means that it is under conscious control. Secondly, there is smooth muscle which is an involuntary muscle that operates without any conscious control. This muscle is controlled by the nervous system. Smooth muscle can be found in the blood vessels and the walls of the digestive system and it helps to control digestion and blood pressure. Lastly, there is cardiac muscle which is located in in the wall of the heart. Cardiac muscle is involuntary and this means that it is not under conscious control. This is made up of a specialised type of tissue which is striated and it has its own blood supply. The contractions aid the pumping of blood through the blood vessels

Firstly, an isometric contraction is when the length of the muscle does not change and the angle of the joint does not change. The muscle is active during this contraction but it is in a static position. An example of this is when you stop halfway when doing a squat or push-up or holding yourself in an abdominal plank position. This type of muscle work is quite easy to do, however it can result in fatigue very quickly. Furthermore, this type of muscle work can cause a sharp increase in the blood pressure in the body because blood flow is reduced. Another type of muscle contraction is the concentric muscle contraction; this occurs when a muscle shortens against a resistance, an example of this is a bicep curl. The brachialis and bicep shorten, bringing your forearm towards your upper arm. These types of contraction are also known as the positive phase of muscle
In this essay I will be analysing the communication and interpersonal interaction that took place in various sectors such one to one interaction, group interaction and how effective these skills and other elements in the health and social care setting such as the environment was being demonstrated.
The purpose of this email is to inform you of a concern that we, the tenants in Unit #4 at 2332 Saidel Drive, have regarding a noise issue from Unit #3.
I am going to talk about multi- disciplinary working what it means how they help service users by working together and also how it helps the overall services working with users. There are two case studies to help explain how professionals work together.
M1- Discuss how policies and procedures help children, young people and their families whilst the child is being looked after.
M3: Discuss the care strategies that can be used to support individuals with each physiological disorder.
In this report I will be describing different patterns of ill health and who and how they are monitored. I will also try to explain different factors that affect our health, not only now but I will try to discuss how different factors fight effect our health in the future, I will then evaluate the influence of the government have on factors that affect ill health.
A health service is a service that provides care and is under the NHS. For examples hospitals or a G.P. They provide treatments but also prevent illnesses through health promotions. A social care service is about providing support to individuals to help them get by and who ever needs it such as emotional support or practical support with daily living tasks.
Reporting of Injuries,Diseases and dangerous occurrences regulations of 1995 requires the reporting of work-related accidents, diseases and dangerous occurrences. The Act applies to all work related activities, but not to all work related incidents. The objective of the regulations is to enable the enforcing authorities to identify where and how risks arise and to investigate serious accidents so as to prevent them from occurring in the future and thus providing a safer work environment. The enforcing authorities can then help and advise you on preventive action to reduce injury, ill health and accidental loss, the main points of our own policy that relate to this are:
This act is vital to follow in a health and social care setting. The act controls how your persona information is used by organisations, businesses or the government. Information must be used fairy, lawfully and for limited, specifically stated purposes. It should be handled according to people’s data protection rights and be kept safe and secure. By protecting vulnerable adults, confidentiality is essential. If a service feels that they cannot express their feelings freely, without assurance or judgement that it will be in self-assurance, then patients may withhold necessary information that may be important to their recovery. Violating someone's confidence may also outcome in alternate conditions for the patient. For example, if the patient
No Secrets – Guidance published by the Department of Health, builds upon the governments respects for human rights and highlights the need to protect vulnerable adults through effective multi-agency work.
This assignment will be explaining the function of research within health and social care. Research is information which is gathered together for a specific purpose. The function of research includes many different functions and they all have different purposes. The functions of research are; Identifying needs, highlighting gaps in provision, planning provision of services, information policy and practice, extending knowledge and understanding, aiding reflection, allowing progress to be monitored, and examining topics of contemporary importance.
As a result of the contractions in the Muscle- Skeletal Longitudinal Section cells and the Muscle- Skeletal Cross Section cells, it allows your muscle to be able to contract in response to nerve stimuli. This means that the movements of most of these muscles are not involuntary, you can control them. Therefore, once the stimulation stops, the muscles relax.
The muscles play major role in the body. Produce movement, maintain posture, stabilize joints, and help generate heat, assist in blood circulation. There are three types of muscles. Skeletal muscle, smooth muscle, and cardiac muscle. Skeletal muscles are most abundant and found attached to skeleton. They respond quickly to stimuli, help in adjusting individual to external environment and being capable of rapid contractions. Skeletal muscle act by contraction that results in shortening and pull on the tendons. Than this transfers the force to bone attached and makes desired movements. Skeletal muscles rarely work by themselves to make movements in the body. The biceps brachii muscle extends the arm at the elbow. When triceps is extending the
2 Cardiac Muscle. Found only in the heart, and is responsible for pumping blood throughout the body.
Cardiac Muscle: involuntary muscle that is similar to smooth muscle and only found in the heart
