Supply Chain Xavier Smith Western Governors University Abstract This submission offers an analysis of the results from the supply-chain simulation. The submission will discuss strength areas, areas of opportunities, and lessons learned at the end of the simulation. Supply-Chain Analysis This submission analyzes the results of the supply-chain simulation completed. This analysis will comprise several noted points encountered in the simulation. Each discussion point will include a discussion of the correlation of the author’s actions with the simulation results, comparative success results, and alternate actions to produce better results. Further analysis will be applied to the author’s actions with relation to just-in-time …show more content…
The quarterly leasing cost was $120,000 and $100,000, respectively. To iterate, the reason for opening only two locations was to position the company’s products in front of a significant number of consumers with metropolitan appetites and disposable incomes to support computer purchases. For Manufacturing, production facilities were situated near Tokyo due to government perquisites offered. The company chose a facility that supported the production of 50 units per day, or 3,250 per quarter, at a cost of $22,000 per unit, inclusive of fixed and variable costs. Since no production began, choosing this plant size was purely anticipatory, not based on actual generated data. Facility adjustments may be made in subsequent quarters to accommodate higher-than-normal or lower-than-expected demand. For Accounting, the cash-flow sheet demonstrates an ending cash balance of $350,000, which comprises of $550,000 and $1,100,000 total anticipated expenses subtracted from $2,000,000 in sold stocks—financing. Since there was a positive cash balance, no loans were necessary. Comparative Success: Success in this quarter cannot be determined, since the aims were focused on establishing processes to generate as much revenue as possible during subsequent quarters. Therefore, no comparisons are possible or appropriate. Alternative Actions: It is not possible to discuss alternative or corrective actions during quarter 1, since the aims were focused on
This group is aiming to identify all of important key factors that Devondale as our chosen company will use in engaging and managing their supply chain as the largest dairy food exporter. Some of the aims will include in:
I enjoyed the Global Supply Chain Management Simulation (GSCM). It was exciting to be a Manager of the supply chain of a mobile phone manufacturer. I learned very quickly the pressures of running such a large operation. In this review, I will discuss lessons learned regarding conceptions shown in the simulation. I will explain how if completing the simulation again, what I would complete differently. In conclusion, I will talk about my key overall takeaways from this exercise.
When implementing project 1, you face technical and market risk. How would you assess the risks embedded in Project 1?
Their goals were commendable, but their strategies were inadequate. Although the Chartists failed to reach their
Having no insight of how supply chain management works and using the Responsive E-beer Game simulation gave me a keen view on how the supply chains. Team members placed materials orders to their neighbors in an upstream response to demand from their downstream neighbors. The objective of the whole game was to reduce the cost of fulfilling demand. Cost was measured on backlogs and inventory. Retailer, wholesale, distributor, and manufacturer all play their roles in getting products out to customers. Playing several rounds with team mates made me realize that throughout the supply chain that everyone needed to be on the same page on how much product needed to be ordered through the different channels.

Data mining offers a way to successfully manage the Air Force supply chain. Through data mining we can extract accurately calculated models along the chain which will enable us to generalize information, detect deficiencies, and identify possible areas for improvement. The Air Force could also apply data mining to pricing, forecasting and the transactional relationship between wholesale and retail supply. These findings or solutions should adhere to all Air Force security, safety, and applicable regulations in order to prevent issues that might occur in such versatile environments both stateside and overseas.

Centura has brought on board Viewpost as a third-party to help its vendors gain the benefit of digital payments, paperless remittance, and free digital invoice. My purpose as a Supply Chain Management Intern will be assist with responsibilities of communicating data analyzing, cleaning, and displaying between Viewpost and Centura. The goal in Phase One will be first a foremost to make Viewpost payments through eligible check vendors. That entails all vendors that Centura is currently paying and mailing paper checks to. The majority of those vendors are local and small business, anywhere between lawn contractors and resource consultants. Secondly, is to present remittance data to non-check vendors. The majority of non-check vendors are anywhere
Leadership will be at the forefront of the transition and therefore in charge of effectively communicating the expectations. “The opportunities for success are increased when we tell people what they want to know rather than what we want to say” (Pennington, 2003). Whenever a large change comes down employees have a series of questions. First, they want to know “what is the change?” Be descriptive about the new system and try to avoid being vague. If an employee asks a question about the system but leadership is unsure of the answer they will need to research it and get back to them. The second question will be “why is the change needed?” The new system is needed in order to effectively forecast usage in the least complex and efficient manner. The third question will be “how will the change impact them?” This will be a large change that will require re-training for many different employees and job series.
The supply chain is a concept resulting from multiple independent entities that affect each other. This paper will discuss about Wal-Mart supply chain it will provide the six component, problems and approaches to solve the problems. Wal-Mart is one of the major retail in the world (Walmart 2011). Wal-Mart is continuously developing its business by developing its services and product portfolio. The supply chain of Wal-Mart is also effective to enhance its effectiveness within the industry (Hoppenstedt & Rathkolb 2005).

As previously stated, supply chain includes every activity linked to the movement of goods from the raw-materials phase to the end-user stage. The proponents of this business process recognized that vital productivity improves from management of material flow, relationships, and information. Actually, the success and productivity of a business is dependent on the delivery of improved customer and
As is known from the surroundings we live, there are an increasing number of factories and manufacturing industries all around the world, which facilitate our daily life on one hand and pollute the environment around us on the other. Countries, especially some industrialized ones cannot develop their economy at the cost of making the surroundings contaminated. Many a company, such as Black and Decker producing such products as power tools, kitchen appliances as well as lawn and garden equipment, pursues a policy of sustainable development or ecological sustainability. It refers to the endurance of systems and processes in ecology, covering four interconnected domains: ecology, economics, politics and culture. J Klewitz, EG Hansen (2014) said, “Sustainability-oriented innovation (SOIs) is the integration of ecological and social aspects into products, processes, and organizational structures.”
